Title: Anyone know more about this old type gun?
Post by: fishngal on March 27, 2012, 11:48:57 AM

Rare and Unique Jones Patent 10-Shot Percussion Pepperbox Pistol, c. 1860
.36 caliber, 10-shot two 5-shot vertical stacked barrels, each barrel with individual nipple. Boxed action designed to fire each round sequentially by pulling the trigger. Walnut grips.

Very unique and clever design.

Thanks men for the fast comeback!
This gun was posted for discussion on the ladies site "thewellarmed woman" by a gentlemen member and we go curious about it.

If curious, you may want to check us out because we are a new sight on the gun front aimed at women and their self defense and gun ownership/shooting.

I will be back if I have more tech questions for you folks to help enlighten me more?

Thanks again!!!

Welcome Fishngal!

I took a quick peek at your site, keep up the good work!

Forgive some of the locker room humor you may encounter around here!  We're harmless for the most part and there is an enormous amount of knowledge to be found here!  Feel free to visit as often as you'd like!

;D

Glad you peeked at it.
It isn't my site, except I am a aerly member in it and helping if I can with articles and input to generate interest among the ladies.
Carrie Lightfoot is the owner and creator. Great lady and I think she has a winner with the sight. Almost 7,000 memebers signed up and growing fast daily. Women are into guns now not like the old days.

I am sure your expertise would be welcome if you men joined us?

One of our mentors and moderators is a woman and she keeps us kids in line, at least she tries!

You can look into her profile as Marshal'ette...

Cool site.  Please pass my kudo's to Ms Lightfoot.

I was so proud to see the video under Women & Guns in the News section titled.  More Women Overcoming Stigma, Fear of Gun Ownership - Fox Atlanta May 2011

That was filmed at "my" home range.  Carol and Robin are the owners!   The lady in the pink shirt, Arlene, is the Range Master and the one who supervised my Distinguished Marksman course.

Don't want to be patronizing, but I'm so proud of all of them.

Welcome fishngal.

As I'm sure your aware, women probably make up the largest demographic of new gun owners; especially over the last several years.

Good to see such a great site promoting that.

All the best.

I sent the link to my little girl earlier and I wouldn't have done that if I thought the information wasn't helpful!

She'll give it a looksee this evening and get back to me.
