Title: Mini 14 problem
Post by: Ranger Dave on March 29, 2012, 07:44:08 PM
Has anybody here had to replace the gas block on a mini 14. I have come across a mini 14 with no gas block or plunger.
I have a call into Ruger customer service about a replacement but am looking other possible sources.
Any help will be appreciated.

I think the mini 14 gas block is a Ruger service only item, meaning they won't sell them outright and they will service them only at the Ruger factory.  I have seen them occasionally pop up on eBay, gunbroker.com, and sometimes at the used gun parts sellers.

This place has their own aftermarket  Mini 14 gas block.:

This guy works on Minis and might be able to help you out:

Maybe Clarks Custom Guns.  They use to work on minis and might still:

maybe you can find some answers on the perfectunion forums for minis:

Brownells has the factory style in non-adjustable and adjustable.
The non-adjustable is also designed to limit gas flow to reduce the standard brass-throwing that the Mini-14 is famous for.

Minimal skills required to do the job, if you can detail strip most weapons.
