Title: Bicyle Carry Choice
Post by: miner on April 02, 2012, 08:59:26 PM
My wife and I like to ride bicycles and I'm wondering what suggestions anyone has on choice of pistol and carry method.  Thanks in advance for any thoughts/suggestions!

MB has often commented on how pleased he is with the "Safe Packer".

I carry an XD45 in a Blackhawk Serpa holster.  It doesn't go anywhere if you go over the handle bars.

I will be using a fanny pack.  In the car I position it in a cross draw position and this will probably work on the bike.

FWIW

PS:  FP doesn't attract attention and I don't own a SP.

an Uncle Mikes gunrunner fanny pack works very well for riding...carry on the strong side hip... the snaps allow it to open wide and come away from the belt... used to be available in a variety of bright colors....I've had mine for many years... might add a little camo by sewing a conspicuous brand label on it

occasionally use a JanSport small (5x7) padded case.. has shoulder strap as well as belt loop... my S&W 442 and Bianchi Speed strip sit low enough in the pouch that the top can be left unzipped

don't like to carry autoloaders with a round chambered in a soft pack...it it's not in a formed, holster then I carry them chamber empty and loaded mag...

When he needs to carry my son just puts the crossbar on his shoulder sense his bike only weighs a couple of pounds.

Some time ago I specifically asked MB what he used to carry on a bicycle.  As someone mentioned earlier he does use a Safe Packer while on the bike.

I myself, a long time ago used a handle bar bag to carry a revolver, as it was all I had.  At that time I had received word that a petty drug dealing doper was looking for me.
