I am ready to go into production with a hardsided case product. However, I need to find a finish cover for it. What I am looking for is a synthetic leather that is very thin. The product is applied over wood or hardboard to make it look like leather, it is very thin, textured with a leather grain pattern, and glued on. Most people on this forum would have seen it on Bullseye Shooting cases.
I can't find a name for it, and I have been unable to find a supplier.
Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks
Mike

Mike, go to a local upholstery shop in your area and inquire. I bought an 8x8 sheet of the very stuff you are looking for for about $45. I used it to cover speaker boxes in a friend's truck years ago and I used the leftovers to re-cover a Bullseye box.
** EDIT: I may have some in my uncle's old shop...I'll check and get back to you.

Thanks all! I was going to look at a few places when I was in the Cities today, but I ran out of time. The daughter and I are heading up north tomorrow afternoon to spend some time with my Mom, but I need to hit this hard when I get home. This is a big project with some promise, so I need to get this wrapped up quickly.
Chuck, it sounds like you hit exactly what I'm looking for. If you remember what it's called that would help as I call around in the great white wasteland of very few shopping options.

I did some checking on the old Bullseye Pachmayr boxes like I have. The stuff they used was called 'Durahyde' or 'durahide'.
I can't find it in a search, but an upholstery shop might have it.
The link below is the type stuff I have/had.
