On radio this morning, Glenn welcomed Ted Nugent to the show to discuss some of the “controversial” comments that he made at the NRA convention. But while the media has been focused on what happened on the stage at the convention, Glenn was interested in what he saw happen behind-the-scenes. While at the NRA Convention, Glenn heard the story of how Ted Nugent was denied the chance to attend the funeral of a fallen Navy SEAL, even though the SEAL himself had put the request in his will. How could a hero’s wish be denied?
ABC News reports:
The U.S. Secret Service is looking into the incendiary and potentially threatening remarks made by rocker and Mitt Romney-backer Ted Nugent at the National Rifle Association convention over the weekend.
“We are aware of them and we are conducting the appropriate follow-up now,” Secret Service spokesman George Ogilvie told ABC News.
Nugent told a crowd of convention goers that “if Barack Obama becomes the president in November, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year.”
“If you can’t go home and get everybody in your lives to clean house in this vile, evil, America-hating administration, I don’t even know what you’re made of,” he said. The comments were caught on tape and posted online by the website Right Wing Watch.
“The bottom line is I’ve never threatened anybody’s life in my life. I don’t threaten, I don’t waste breath threatening. I just conduct myself as a dedicated ‘We the people’ activist because I’ve saluted too many flag draped coffins to not appreciate where the freedom comes from,” Nugent told Glenn.
Nugent did said that he will take any Secret Service investigation seriously and that he would be as “polite and supportive as I possibly can be, which will be thoroughly.”
Nugent added that he was sure that the conclusion of the investigation would be the obvious one, that he threatened no one. Nugent said he had spoken with several federal agents who had listened to his speech and reached the same conclusion.
Glenn then asked Nugent about an event he witnessed while backstage at the NRA Convention. While Glenn was meeting with the wives of fallen SEALs, Nugent walked in and spoke with the wife of SEAL Chris Campbell. Glenn explained that in Campbell’s will, he had asked for Nugent to attend his funeral, but was uninvited to the event.
“Do I have the ultimate connection with the ultimate human beings or what? A Navy SEAL Chris Campbell, who gave his life for freedom and the U.S. Constitution, had in his will that he wanted me to perform at his funeral if he died in action. I found that from my friend Marcus Lutrell and other SEALs that I get to train with and spend time with. I immediately open my schedule up for the memorial. I got friends with planes because I was in the middle of some busy stuff. I was ready to board the plane next day to go and perform, and share the love for Chris Campbell and his family, and my office got a call from someone high up in the military letting me that somebody very high up did not want me to be in the same area that day. So I was uninvited in defiance of a dead Navy SEALs personal request,” Nugent explained.
“I wonder who that individual might have been,” Glenn said.

The Commander and Chief and Dictator I presume.

Hi;
having been a member of our County Honor Guard, at times we got requests by family members to perform a cerimony for a decest member of the Armed Forces long after the actual funeral. Mostly, it was due to a foul up by the Funeral Director or after strong discussions by members of the family to give the decest a Military funeral service.
In a lot of areas there is still a lack of a system to have a Military Funeral, so we use to travel way outside our County for a service. Ted could do the same thing if the family would want it.

Gee, is the Secret Service interviewing Calypso Louis Farrakhan? He recently gave a speech saying as soon as a few days from now. Leaders will be killed for "selling out"...
http://www.theblaze.com/stories/farrakhan-warns-young-leaders-they-risk-being-killed-if-they-sell-out/
“You want to be leaders, right? You sure, you sure? You better check yourself,” he said. “Because leadership is nothing to play with, because people tomorrow — maybe in a few days — are going to kill their leaders who have been selling them out. That‘s why we’re in the shape we’re in right now because we had corrupt people or people who started out good and got corrupted.”
More and vid at link.
He mentions BHO by name......Where's the SS? ???
Ted states, he'll bring BBQ to the "interview"......
I'm sure it will be damn tasty... ;D

Gun-toting rockstar creates headache for Romney
KIM LANDERS: The 70s rock star and Mitt Romney supporter, Ted Nugent, has created a headache for the Republican presidential hopeful by saying he will either be "dead or in jail" if Barack Obama wins re-election in November.
It has been enough to trigger an investigation by the Secret Service into whether the long time gun advocate is a potential threat against the president.
North America correspondent Jane Cowan reports.
(Music excerpt: Cat Scratch Fever, Ted Nugent)
JANE COWAN: Maybe alarm bells should have gone off for Mitt Romney when he welcomed the endorsement of a man best known for songs like Yank Me, Crank Me and who describes himself as the Motor City Madman.
(Music excerpt: Cat Scratch Fever, Ted Nugent)
The faded 70s rock star Ted Nugent is used to shooting his mouth off, and he's a long-time Obama critic, but have a listen to what he said to an audience of gun owners at the National Rifle Association convention.
TED NUGENT: If Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year.
JANE COWAN: In the same rant Nugent compared Barack Obama and the Democrats to a coyote that should be shot.
TED NUGENT: We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November.
JANE COWAN: It was enough to score Nugent an interview with the Secret Service.
It also created a problem for the Republican presidential hopeful. Mitt Romney must now be regretting saying this on a Missouri radio show last month.
RADIO ANNOUNCER: Ted says you're okay, he endorses you. I am pretty tempted to do the same thing.
MATT ROMNEY: Well, that's good to hear. Yeah, it's been fun getting to know him, Ted Nugent.
JANE COWAN: The Romney campaign has sent an email to reporters saying divisive language is offensive no matter what side of the political aisle it comes from and that everyone needs to be "civil".
But he's been criticised for not emphatically disavowing the remarks. Maggie Haberman writes for Politico.
MAGGIE HABERMAN: A lot of people were arguing this was a moment that Mitt Romney could have used as a moment of strength, he could have used it to sort of push away some of the more rhetorically radioactive people within his party. He did not choose to do that.
JANE COWAN: The dust-up comes as attention is focused on the use of "surrogates" and "proxies" in American politics where every talking head is a former insider to someone and whole second careers are made as commentators.
The Obama campaign had troubles of its own last week, when the Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen launched the so-called "mummy wars" by saying Mitt Romney's wife had "never worked a day in her life".
That comment sent Obama's entire top echelon of campaign advisers into damage control, working overtime to condemn the remarks.
The conservative radio host Michael Smerconish thinks Romney should have done something similar with Nugent.
MICHAEL SMERCONISH: If there were no connection between the two, if this was just today's news story and Nugent hadn't embraced Romney and I were whispering in Romney's ear, I'd say go out there and confront this story. It is in your best interests because independents are watching.
I think it is a great insight, I think that so many of us have access to the internet and to microphones and to print these days that there is going to be much, much more of this particularly in a 24/7 news world.
Candidates are going to be held accountable for surrogates or supporters and it will be very important even if they had nothing to do with the statements, to make sure that they distinguish between what they think and whatever today's knucklehead thought.
JANE COWAN: More than six months out from the election, Mitt Romney's also been endorsed by celebrities like Gene Simmons from Kiss and the singer Kid Rock.
What else could possibly go wrong?
This is Jane Cowan in Washington for The World Today.

The issue has been put to rest.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/04/19/secret-service-no-charges-against-rocker-nugent-for-obama-comments/ (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/04/19/secret-service-no-charges-against-rocker-nugent-for-obama-comments/)
The Secret Service said Thursday the agency has completed its interview with rocker Ted Nugent regarding his controversial remarks about President Obama and no action will be taken.
"The Secret Service interview has been completed. The issue has been resolved. The Secret Service does not anticipate any further action," said agency spokesman Brian Leary.
The 63-year-old Nugent, who recently endorsed GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney, said during a weekend National Rifle Association convention that the Obama administration was "vile," "evil" and "America-hating."
He also said that if the president is re-elected, “I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year."
Nugent, who said his comments were not a call to violence, revealed Wednesday on Glenn Beck's radio show that he was set to meet Thursday with Secret Service agents.

On a side note, after an afternoon with Uncle Ted several agents were seen in the local 7-11 buying all the pain relievers and beer they could find. One agent was heard to say "What the hell did I do to deserve this one?"

Something along the lines that the leaders better change their ways or the followers are going to kill them....

We know perfectly well why you don't like him.
You're a half brainwashed Californian.
Collage indoctrination doesn't help either.
Better read my posts on the subject in m58's thread.

Now you've done it...he's going to bring up a bunch of crap that occurred before he was born!

Welcome back TAB,....Ted has the testicular fortitude to take the gloves off this election time round....The Dems. never took the gloves off...Perhaps the pit bull Debbie Wasserman Schulrz quotes are needed......
She's so much of a windbag asshat, that the Conservatives actually like her running her mouth for the DNC....
No response needed....Regardless, of your position about Uncle Ted....It's hard to disagree. Did he shoot his mouth off? Of course...
Does he like the fact that Libs can't sleep and have bags under their eyes, and panties in a wad over his remarks? ?????
Yep. ;)
Hope your well TAB, and you and the family are doing alright. Fight the good fight in Kalifornistan.....
