Found this while browsing the web forums today. Did not notice it posted here. Unbelievable! I don't do business with BOA, but wish I did so I could call them up and cancel or transfer all accounts..with plenty of added commentary for them.

McMillan Fiberglass Stocks, McMillan Firearms Manufacturing, McMillan Group International have been collectively banking with Bank of America for 12 years. Today Mr. Ray Fox, Senior Vice President, Market Manager, Business Banking, Global Commercial Banking came to my office. He scheduled the meeting as an “account analysis” meeting in order to evaluate the two lines of credit we have with them. He spent 5 minutes talking about how McMillan has changed in the last 5 years and have become more of a firearms manufacturer than a supplier of accessories. At this point I interrupted him and asked “Can I possible save you some time so that you don’t waste your breath? What you are going to tell me is that because we are in the firearms manufacturing business you no longer what my business.”
“That is correct” he says.
I replied “That is okay, we will move our accounts as soon as possible. We can find a 2nd Amendment friendly bank that will be glad to have our business. You won’t mind if I tell the NRA, SCI and everyone one I know that BofA is not firearms industry friendly?”
“You have to do what you must” he said.
“So you are telling me this is a politically motivated decision, is that right?”
Mr Fox confirmed that it was. At which point I told him that the meeting was over and there was nothing let for him to say.
I think it is import for all Americans who believe in and support our 2nd amendment right to keep and bear arms should know when a business does not support these rights. What you do with that knowledge is up to you. When I don’t agree with a business’ political position I can not in good conscience support them. We will soon no longer be accepting Bank of America credit cards as payment for our products.

I don't have any business with them either, and after this screw up I NEVER WILL!!

It wasn't a screw up! It was a deliberate act prompted by a board of directors that is answering to a higher authority. Who that authority is, is the question!
I fired them several years ago simply because they're not interested in the common account holder who doesn't have tens of thousands in their accounts. Seems it was a good decision!
I bank with USAA and a local bank my daughters worked for since HS. Coming up on 9 years now...

Dropped them several years ago for being schmucks,.....all the more reason.

This is a continuing trend in the financial industry, every now and then you hear a story about a distributor, dealer, or manufacturer who loses his regular financing because they are in the gun industry.
Any Citizen or legal alien still doing business with Bof A pretty much deserves to get f*cked any way since they are supporting illegal immigration.
If you call a bank they ask for your SSN to verify your account.
If you call B of A's Spanish language line they do not ask since it is assumed if you don't speak English you do not have an SSN .

Same here.
Back when I was still in a wheelchair, the only access to the local office was around back from the actual parking area. Only other entrance was prefaced by 15 marble steps. So, my wife goes in to make a cash withdrawal from my account like she had done many, many times before (she had both our I.D.'s and was an authorized user of the account).....but, this time the teller had had a bad day (I guess) and decided to be difficult, saying I had to be there in person.
So the wife came out and told me that the teller said I had to go in..........and I did (with marked difficulty)........ straight to the bank manager so I could close out both my checking and (at the time) sizable savings accounts.
I don't know if I've ever saw saliva turn to sugar in a persons mouth as fast as it did hers.......she was the sweetest lady in the world. Didn't stop me though.
Took the bank draft right on down the street to a locally owned and operated bank.
As far as I'm concerned, Bank of America can kiss my fat posterior......and I'll be glad to mark'em a spot, too.
>:(

Before BofA, they were Nations Bank,....for a time they ran corporate operations, and still might, out of Charlotte, NC. The CEO at that time 18-20 years ago, was a man named Hugh McCall....Played golf with him and my banker Dad back in the day....As I recall he wanted his Golden Parachute, and to get the "F" out of what was to come......
Golf course conversation,...has a stark reality in whats going on.... They than reconstituted themselves as BofA......and what a bunch of slimeball elitist they became....
Our local range in Mt. Holly, NC at the time needed an expansion loan and shopped around, (this was 1993ish)....BofA told them to piss up a rope than....The range went to another NC bank Wachovia , (now Wells Fargo),....right at the Clinton AWB....
Their sales smoked for the next decade.....BofA missed a chance to do business with a local company that has grown six ways from Sunday.....Check Hyatt Gun Shop in Charlotte....
BofA would love to have them back but can't because of politics, the good ol' boy network, and dumb ass bureaucrats....
rant off...

Bank of America has been around since the 20's or 30's. I had an account with them in California in 1977-79...

I guess I should scan the topics more closely next time. I just started another thread on this same topic. Sorry for the double dip. ::) :-[

Double dipping is good! It just means that we're being thorough in our investigations!
Keep up the good work CJ...

Double dipping is good!
all depends.. are you going to end up with sloppy 2nd's...
surprises ( well not really )
you would think they would want as much business as they could get, i hope people are telling the bank that they will never use them and if they have accounts they would pull them out and go somewhere else,
I remember hearing one of Tom Gresham's that there is a bank somewhere in the US that is 2A friendly and even allows CCW holders in there and encourages them, think they might just have an advertising opportunity to get more account holders ;)

Citizens Bank .
At least in NH.

20 years ago I closed my bank accounts and transferred everything into a local credit union. They pay more interest than a bank and if you take out a loan they charge you less interest. It's a win-win situation. Plus I can use tens of thousands of CU ATMs for free. Screw all banks.

Been using my local Credit Union for well over half my life.
Just wondering if someone uses one of their credit cards to purchase a gun, are they going to drop the CC holder also?
-
still going on as well
BOA say it was a "miscommunication" ( BS I say )

Been with my local credit union for about 10 years now. About 6 years ago a CCW holder thwarted an attempted armed (knife) robbery. I don't know what their position was before this incident, but I know that any of us that walk in (They all know who we are) we seem to get a little better service.
