Um, OK, this is huge! ;D
$673 for an AR? I got screwed!!! Well, I would have been if I spent $2000 for a civilian Colt.
-
At least an American company got the contract.

Hi;
Singer sewing machine company, Rock-o-la-juke box company, International Harverster Company....
This Country could make anything - by anyone IF it wants.....
With this news, has anything changed ?

You mean besides the apparent end of a 175 year relationship ?

Now all I gots to remember is if the Remington M4 is made by Bushmaster or DPMS ::) Either way it is still ok.

On another note, when Remington bought Bushmaster, or should I say when Freedom Group bought them both, the Bushmaster plant in Windam Maine was completely closed down. So the employees got together and bought the old plant and are putting out ARs under the name of Windham Weaponry. I would buy one of those just to spite the a-holes who put them out of work

Bushmaster moved from Maine to NY thanks to "incentives" from non other than Chucky Schumer?
snip
Freedom Group International, which also purchased Remington. In a cost-cutting move, the company closed Bushmaster's Windham location in March and moved operations to New York, laying off all 65-70 employees in the process.

Either way, Colt has a history of handling its marketing, pricing, and products, "poorly"....Even though they do make good stuff.
As a comment stated in the article. After the Remington media "controversy" with the 700, this is good for them...
The replacement of the M9 is next.

You need to take into account other things.
Remington had a fairly new, modern factory designed to build guns, Bushmaster was in an old muffler factory.
(originally "Maremont", then "Saco Defense", finally "Bushmaster" )

What I heard when I bought my 308 was that the R-25 was DPMS and the R-15 was Bushmaster.
Don't know if that is still true but the change I made to the R-25 using DPMS compatable stuff all fit and work VERY well. (Krieger barrel) ;D
I don't know why the M4 couldn't be made by both Bushy and DPMS.

But....but...buttttt....all the boutique AR fanboi's on another forum told me that DPMS stands for
Doesn't
