Not so much the criminal biker gangs anymore, Feds cracked down on them pretty hard....Many legit clubs, that are not criminals seem to have improved the image.

Couldn't resist this one though...

We've got a Hell's Angel's chapter here in Laconia.
The President of it was in jail a while back for...
Wait for it.....
A "wet lands" violation, He cut down a tree that fell in the lake, he got several months for it.
Last summer they held their "World Run" here.
It led to no arrests.

I'm more opposed to all of the damn Lance Armstrong wanna-be's than I am to motorcycle gangs.  At least motorcycle gangs have the courtesy to obey stop signs and don't constantly stuff their skinny asses into a pair of spandex shorts and ride around in public.

Over the last 20 years the number of individuals riding motorcycles has increased immensely. These "outlaw biker gangs" as mentioned in this thread however have grown some, but not  as much as the general population of bikers. Besides, these "outlaw biker gangs" aren't outlaw biker gangs at all, they are just angels, or so they try to make everyone believe. No, it's that darn DA's office, that keeps on charging them and prosecuting them and making false accusations about them.

Mind you, why they whine about the DA's office is a mystery to me, given the fact that all criminal charges in several trials have been thrown out by the courts, not because they are innocent but because the DA's office simply keeps screwing up their cases by consequently listening in and adding to the files the privileged conversations between these "innocent angels" and their lawyers.

ok cool

over here they say ( media, police yda yda )   they are big time criminal organisation with drug, money laundering and stand over tactics

the recent shooting seem to be over turf wars,  paybacks and here in SA  we seem to be having an internal fued with one club,  and the same club pissed off the hells angles as well

there are some good bike clubs  however if you seem to ride a harley then you are tarnished with being a bikie

Here if you ride a new Harley you're more than likely a yuppie with a few days growth on their face to look the part.  They've gotten so damn expensive these days.  Most every weekend there is a group ride scheduled for one reason of another with full support from the local PD to help with traffic and such.  An acquaintance of mine has a run every August for his charity set up in his daughters name who died of cancer in 2005.  He draws several hundred riders that come from all walks of life including the local biker club.

There is still a criminal element out there but their being overrun by the weekend riders.

I miss the riding but anyone who'd ridden as long as some of us has had their share of near death experiences.
