fat bugger...
think you need to go on a bit of a run mate..
MEOW the cat might have the world's least original name but he's got bigger (ahem) problems.
He's possibly the world's fattest cat.
The orange and white tabby tips the scales at nearly 18kg, and the Santa Fe Animal Shelter in New Mexico is on a mission to get him back into shape.
Shelter spokesman Ben Swan said Meow's 87-year-old owner could no longer take care of him, so the two-year-old cat was turned over to a southeastern New Mexico shelter that called Santa Fe for help.
Meow is going on a special diet so he can shed some pounds and go up for adoption.
Mr Swan said the cat has a sweet demeanour but cannot play for very long because he loses his breath due to the extra weight.
But he added it remained unclear how Meow got so big in his short life.

Hey! At least it's bought and paid for. ;)
And anyway it just means there's more of me to love. ;D

Whoa....now that is a fat cat........

That orange and white tabby was on the fluff morning show the other day.
I think that Haz would agree that any domestic pet that's allowed to get that heavy is a neglected animal. No way an animal should be fed to the point that they cannot support their own weight for three or four steps without losing it's breath. He seemed like a really sweet animal sitting on the couch next to that twit Matt Lauer. I hope he lives to see another few years!

Yes, pretty much the same thing!
But it ain't the .gov business to do anything about it either! Ignorance breeds ignorance...it's the failings of our educational systems supported by an inept .gov that's the problem.

Not really, it's more an issue of parents that give the kid anything to shut him up while being themselves to lazy to cook real food for the equally lazy kid.

That too!
What I was referring to pertained to our (me) being required to take a Home Economics class starting in the 6th grade. I don't believe they require that anymore. Both of my folks, brothers and sisters and myself can cook but we too were subjected to the overly processed, boxed crap of the 60's and 70's as well!
I took some form of cooking class throughout my JH and HS years because I enjoyed it, kept the GPA up and there were lots of girls in the classes!
;D

I thought this might be more fitting considering the topic title: (http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads20/525832_285273244891625_181100418642242_625087_555307593_a1335064226.jpg)

We were required to take home economics one semester. Mostly I learned by surviving.
Nowadays though all it takes to make tasty nutritious meals is brains enough to plug in a crock pot.

look at what and how the feed the kids at schools as well
I remember seeing Jamie Oliver trying to work with a school to provide better healthy menu for the kids yet they did not want to take it up
also it is the parents as well need to set an example and spend the extra time to get healthy food, not just to to Maccas or HJ's ( Burger King )
Haz, still brewing your own. ??
