It just never ceases with these assclowns......14 year old running a tractor? Working too many hours during the harvest, or weekends? Exposed to "potential" danger from loose livestock?
Youngsters would banned from grain elevators, stockyards, livestock pens, operating combines, tractors, or other farm implements.
How many kids that grew up on a farm/ranch, are now in the Occupy Wall Street Crowd? My guess would be NONE!!!!
The BHO Labor Dept.....knows best, because it's (after all) "For The Children".....

Government Lays An Egg: DOL Plans To Regulate Kids's Chores On The Family Farm

One of the ways children build character and learn the work ethic is by doing chores.
So thank heavens the Obama administration is going to crack down on this. It seems that the Department of Labor is putting forward regulations that would make it illegal for farm children to do certain tasks on the family farm. The regs basically extend child-labor laws to family farms. 'Bout time.
And the 4-H Club to which so many of my friends growing up in rural Mississippi belonged? It will no longer be able to conduct safety training under the proposed regulations. A 90-hour government-run training program will replace the one formerly offered by 4-H.
Thank heavens! I never knew a friend to be injured at 4-H (and believe me, one of my dearest friends to this day consistently won the first prize for his handsome pigs), but it’s never too soon to put a stop to things like this.

It's only "One more chipping away of our very foundation of the country" if you allow it.
Government is only possible with the consent of the governed.

This is where you are flat out wrong Tom. bho is doing all of this through edicts, EOs and regulations, none of which require kongressional approval. There is nothing to consent to - it is simply done, and becomes a part of the damn near permanent bureaucracy. What have you personally done to stop the Fed .gov's encroachments on our liberties and freedoms? Sent a letter to your .gov rep? And what good has that done anyone?

This is the danger of departments. They have more power than the Legislative branch to enact rules and penalties. Rules are more damaging than laws, because they are interpreted and enforced by the same departments that enact them, so they can make sure to restrict to the fullest.
Go through an OSHA inspection some time. The inspector (OSHA employee) comes in and writes you up according to his interpretation of the rule and his interpretation of your plan and actions. If you try to appeal the dings and penalties it is an OSHA panel you go in front of. OSHA is not subject to the Fourth or Fifth Amendments either. By operating in an area under their oversight you sign up to let them walk in at any time and you must answer everything.

When Glenn Beck called the Regulatory Czar, Cass Susstein, the most dangerous man in America, many scoffed and said,...
"That's Just Crazy Talk",...."It Can't Happen"........
Do some research on Cass......and his background,.......and ask yourself again if our Nation can survive 4 more years....
Although, between the Amish and rural folks in the Midwest,....I would like to see how the enforcement from Holder would actually be utilized....
Another Waco? Or storming Amish farms? Perhaps a bad media moment.....But that is the idiocy of Liberalism....

Your right Path, and it happened to some organic caterers out West. Simply raided and swarmed.....There is a recent vid of perfectly good produce being dumped in barrels of bleach, and rendered inedible,...because it was not to Fed Ag. licensing for public consumption....On private property, for a private event....
Time is short my friends......Dems plan far ahead. This is all part of the master plan...At some point, it will "break"...
Since you can tie it up in the courts, and these folks will simply appeal,...all the way to the SCOTUS if necessary, and than issue Executive Orders, to bypass it?
It simply requires another methodology in dealing with tyranny...
"Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual." --Thomas Jefferson
"Good intentions will always be pleaded for any assumption of power. The Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters."
Daniel Webster

We were at our state FFA convention Thursday and Friday and the state Ag Commissioner announced Thursday night that the thing was withdrawn by the DOL, thankfully.
House and Senate bills have been introduced to block the U.S. Department of Labor’s proposed farm child labor rule. The Labor Department withdrew the proposed rule on April 26, 2012.
Announcing the introduction of the Preserving America’s Family Farm Act on March 21, 2012, Sens. John Thune, R-S.D., and Jerry Moran, R-Kan., noted that the Labor Department proposed rules in 2011 that would prohibit youth under the age of 18 from being near certain animals without adult supervision. Also, the bill would prohibit youth from participating in common livestock practices such as vaccinating and hoof trimming, handling most animals more than six months old, operating certain farm machinery, completing tasks at elevations over six feet high and working at stockyards and grain and feed facilities.
