I have managed to strategically acquire (aka hoarding) a substantial amount of primers since 2011 in anticipation of the election this year. I am buying as much powder, bullets, and 22 ammo as I can get too. Yeah I'm a hoarder and I'm proud of it! ;D
The local gun shop in my area brought in six pallets stacked about 6 feet high of cases of ammo in the popular calibers (9mm, 40, 45, 5.56, etc). They say sales are brisk on ammo and guns. I guess all of this serves as an anecdote to what Michael has been saying for a few months now.
The last round of this taught me a very important lesson about buying when you don't need it right away.
So that's my story. What's going on in your neighborhood with respect to ammo and gun sales? Any shortages? Higher prices?

All good in Eastern, PA in regards to ammo. Recently got a great deal - 500 rounds of .40 Remington Golden Sabres for $150....cheaper than target rounds. 1911s are in short supply right now, however, and of course on the shopping list.

S. Florida, has seen moderate increases in prices. Not really any shortages, just shortages on "deals"....Usually, online deals are better, especially when free shipping is involved.
Nothing wrong with being a proud "hoarder", many members here are wisely keeping their stocks up, even if its a little at a time.
Remember also that "hoarding" and stockpiling is good, right up until you might have to bug out and leave the area.
Taking 10,000 rds. of ammo, 35 pistols, rifles, and shotguns, 100 different magazines, holsters, accessories, etc,.. takes up A BUNCH of space and weight. Between that and food, water, gear, etc,...You could fill a Chevy Suburban real quick.
In the event of an EMP, cars and trucks won't work, unless you have something prior to 1977...
All part of following through the equation of possible scenarios of "What If I Actually Have To Leave?"
I too have primers, and do not reload, figured they would always work for bartering/trade,...

I am hoping, really hoping that Obama is defeated in November and all this talk about the "Mother of All Bubbles" doesn't become a reality.
TW, your comment about an EMP attack got me thinking. I have a 1991 Toyota pickup but it still has a computer ( a very rudimentary one but still a computer). I would love to find an old Land Cruiser, Suburban, or International, especially the International....
