'Hashpoint' dispenser allows users to pick up cannabis 24 hours a day
It's every stoner’s dream – a marijuana vending machine, preferably placed right next to another one dispensing crisps and chocolate bars.
But this ‘Autospense’ machine lets registered users of the drug pick up their prescriptions, 24 hours a day.
Sixteen US states – as well as Washington DC – allow patients with certain medical conditions to buy small quantities of cannabis.
Hundreds of dispensaries have popped up across the country, but now a US firm has decided to cut out the middle man.
Customers get PINs and cards to access to the Autospense, which offers a host of pot menu options. But The Dispensary Group, which makes the machines, doesn’t let just anyone use them.
The machines are put behind cages that need a registration card to get past, while fingerprint authentication, CCTV and locks provide extra security.
The company said the machines ‘introduce a higher standard of efficiency to a market known for being chaotic, poorly managed and counter culture’. It charges up to £1,235 a month to lease the machines.
Legalising medical marijuana has become increasingly popular in the US since California started the trend in 1996.

Somebody will wrap a chain around the cage and then attach the chain to a car or truck and then punch it.
Then they will wrap a chain around the machine and haul off wirh it too.
Steal the pot and then sell it.
Or somebody will just forget their pin number which i guess is what the fingerprint I.D. Thing is for .
Will Obamacare cover people's hashpoint prescriptions?

Yep there is that
Or what is stopping crims holding up people as the get there weed out of it.

all that for a weed that is easier to grow than to steal... way too much risk in my opinion, but then, some people have no clue when it comes to growing plants. (it's a weed for crap sake). wonder what the consequences would be for that?

I used to think "Medical marijuana" was BS. Even when I used it myself I still thought "medicinal" was a lame BS excuse to get stoned.
Then my 81 y/o Korea Marine father started telling me about his experience with it and his various medical problems over the past couple years.
Made me a believer.

I used to be an avid consumer when I was a youngster but then gave it up on purpose. If you ever want to underachieve, smoking pot is a good place to start. I do believe, though, that .gov's obsession with pot is amazingly stupid. It is NOT the narcotic they list it as. It is NOT the gateway drug they claim it is. Pot has less dangerous side affects associated with it than taking aspirin or tylenol, and it is thousands of times less dangerous than most of the trumped-up crap they're selling on tv to cure made-up diseases. (Can you say, "Dry Eye Syndrome" or "Low-T" )
The tax revenue and jobs that pot sales would generate would free us all up to spend more money on guns, and would eliminate one of .gov's more lucrative black budgets (the "War on Drugs").

This documentary is 2 hours long:

but there are other much shorter clips and trailers. Just do a search for "drug war great white hope".

Isn't it amazing how EVIL pot is supposed to be? It makes people lazy and hungry. Wow...thats Satan personified.
And the .gov wonders why everyone who grew up in the 60's & 70's who was force fed this crap, then found out is was all bullshit, doesn't believe a word they say about ANYTHING.
Meth and Coke can cause OD's and with sustained heavy use, psychotic behavior.
Those are both class II drugs. Pot is class I, no medicinal use whatsoever....at least in US Govt funded studies. ::)

I don't know about that. I have several friends who still partake who are either owners of or high ranking executives of prosperous companies. I find it little different than alcohol to that affect. Alcohol is far, far more dangerous on a daily basis than cannabis and it's perfectly legal!
I have no problem with the occasional user. I only stopped because the job I was doing thirty years ago required that I have clean piss. What I do on my own time is nobodies business but some folks don't see it that way!

The best sheet metal fabricators, welders, and machinists I have known in my career (2 exceptions among the machinists, but they were OLD old school ) have all been potheads, and they all had all their fingers.

I've seen that firsthand myself. My old employer was bought out by a larger company and instituted a "drug policy". We had a staff meeting and made them realize that if they did that they'd lose 80-90% of a very talented workforce. The company is nearly 35 years in sheet metal fabrication and going strong. These men were artists... and every one of you who've had a DD coffee, eaten at a Legal Seafoods, Morton House, BJ's Wholesale, Panara Bread or any number of hundreds of other companies have seen their work!
On a similar note, one of our best welders drank whiskey all day long, every day of the year...he couldn't lay a bead sober... ;D

Points taken...not everyone is hampered by weed, which is even MORE to the point. Demonizing it is completely based on fantasy. Some people can't function on pot (like me) but that doesn't make it beer....beer has ruined more lives and killed more people than pot, and that doesn't count all the other alcohol products.
We are not a free people.

no kidding. so many things that are regulated are just plain stupid.. weed, distillation, certain pills and medications. WTF. most things are legal. but don't try making them yourself or buying outside of a pharmacy... big sis gets pissed. heck, the majority of what ATF busts people for is ridiculous. why are we letting ourselves fall further into .gov control?

Because the "majority" are fools and/or cowards.
