Title: Charter Arms Bulldog (Classic version) vs. Charter Arms Bulldog (Modern version)

I'm thinking of buying one these revolvers. The classic version has 3" barrel unprotected ejection rod and wood grips. The modern version has a 2.5" barrel, protected ejection rod, and synthetic grips.

Those who have owned either of these guns, can you tell me which you would choose and why?

I prefer the protected ejector rod but only for looks.
Grips are changeable so that's no biggie .

I have a "classic" 3" and a 4" Target Bulldog.  The 3" is far superior.  Never a problem with it (as opposed to the 4" which was probably made on a late friday afternoon just before or during "miller time".).  It's a nice and light carry gun.  I carried it YEARS ago when it was difficult to carry extra ammo.  Now with Tuff Strips in .44, it would be an excellent carry revolver.

As a side note, I got Bianchi "Speed strips" for my .357 from Amazon, they probably have them for .44 as well.
They were $5/pr.
I don't know how the price compares with other places but since no one around here carries them in stock in was worth it.

I would like to get the one that shoots the .40 Smith and Wesson.
