Well, I am to a point where I want to try the photobucket thingy. I am about finished with a Model 1908 German made Mauser. This was the most perfect receiver & bbl combo I have ever ran across. The edges were so sharp that they would cut paper. I don't think it was ever fired or put in a stock before I found it. Here's what I did:
Trued the action, squared the rec. face, cut and crowned, tapped for scope mounts, new adj. trigger, one coat of baked on Gun-Kote, placed it in a good stock.
I still need to replace the safety with the 2 position one for the scope to be mounted low. But, that is a 20 minute, $20 job that will come with the next Midway order. I hope the links work.

NICE,

Very Nice! I also own an 1891 Argentine Mauser in 7.65x53. It belonged to my grandfather who sporterized it. It shoots like a champ, and puts a nice hole in whatever I'm shooting at, with 187 gr. mil surp FMJ ammo. The stripper clips help.
I would like to consider options and update the stock or refinish it and bring it into the 21st century.
It looks like you have a great one. Gotta love those Mausers!
