Welcome Shadrack2002!..If you log on here, "you will definetely find something interesting or entertaining on here guranteed." umm why YES!.. 8).. In the peril's and endeavors of everyday life, I never leave home without one! Yes, I am a Glock user. :D I happen to have a G23 too! I've fired a few shoots with Glocks ( ;)) in my time and have been very amazed and happy with their dependability, accuracy, durability, and overall toughness. Keep the barrels clean and don't use over-factory high pressure loads (unless you change the barrel) and you can shoot thousands of trouble free rounds. Glad to see you on here and glad to see that you are choosen a quality weapon too. ;D
-
I have a Glock 27 that is my everyday carry piece and a G19 that is my nightstand gun. You really can't go wrong with a Glock, especially for the price. My 19 is my favorite gun in my arsenal and has proven to be accurate and reliable.
-
Grip angle eats me up on glocks. Which is my problem, not the pistol's. They're fine shooting handguns. My problem is that when I come out of the holster with one, due to the way I naturally point, I look like the world's smallest anti-aircraft battery. I'm pointed at the sky. Maybe trying to take down Chinese satellites or sumthin.
;D

GOT TO LOVE THE SIMPLICITY 8) 8)
-
Glock 17, 19, 22C. Sold the 22C, traded the 21 for an XD with a smaller grip (small hands). Wouldn't take anything for the 19 though.
-
17 for work and a 19 for carry on occasion and back-up home defense
-
Glock 26 everyday carry, aprox. 5000 rds. Glock 22, semi-retired, well over 10,000 rds. Can't beat them for dependability
-
Model 17, 34, 20 and 21.
Model 21 is definitely my favorite, thousands and thousands of rounds. Killed rattlesnakes to deer with it. Rides in my truck everyday. I don't leave home without it.
The 2, 9mm's are fun, and the 17 is in the bed with a 28 round mag and night sights.
The 34 is all tricked out with trigger job, overtravel and pretravel adjustments, Carver mount with a c-more sight, stippling on the gripframe etc... Competition or hunting rig. Yeah, hunting rabbits and such.
The 10mm I'm still playing with, at first it was a pig as far as accuracy, but as I play with loads, it has come full circle, not what I want yet, but showing promise. I only load nuclear loads for the 10mm. That's why I got it, I want 15 rounds of badass. >:(NO I won't publish my loads, they are definitely over what you see in any book. My 135 Noslers are over 1600 fps, and yes, they do sting.

Are you using the factory barrel?
-
So, is this going to become the "Classic Glock Thread"?
-
Yes I am using the factory 5" barrel. All brass is brand new, and I'm watching the pressure signs carefully.

YES

Love most of the Glock line (the 26,27, and 33 are just too short-gripped for me, despite their inherent cuteness).
Current top love of the line is the Glock 34. I like the long slide's looks.
I'd love to try out the Glock 21SF. I'd also love to see the Glock 20SF and the 29SF. The Glock 30 is about comfortable enough that I am a tad ambivalent toward the 30 SF, but if it does provide real grip reduction, I will have my true favorite idea - the Glock 19 in .45 ACP.
(Yes, I know the Glock 38 in .45 GAP is supposed to be the same, but the Glock 30SF has 11 shots of .45 ACP, not 9 shots of .45 Short.)

Here is a nice website for all you Glock fans out there. They have a lot of interesting stuff go check it out.

just got the glock 27... bought a custom barrel for it the bar-sto standard barrel... its a nail driver!!! also got the magazine extension to allow for a better and more firm grip... i love it and plan on getting night sights here in the near future, as well as a custom slide... but i dont know where to get any of those features... but in the mean time i plan on getting 1 or 2 more glocks... the 19 and the maybe the 10mm but not sure right now

Welcome to Team Glock! There are a lot of websites out there to help you trick it out, but here is one that is totally dedicated to Glock stuff:
http://www.lonewolfdist.com/
They do custom slides too, but some of their stuff is pretty far out there (Flames and skulls and stuff like that). You don't want to go too extreme and turn it into a "nickel plated sissy gun" - I would be one of those people at the range that would be more then happy to laugh at you.
But anyway, congraduations. You will love your Glock!
Happy Glocking!

i already love it... took it to the range today put around 200 rounds through it, and thanks for advice as to where to find some gear... and dont worry, i'm not going to go all out, just some sights and maybe a new slide... engraving on a poly frame gun is something that i'm not interested it.

I have one of the first US Glocks, Ser# A* 27*
I wonder what is worth now days? Maybe $500.00, I guess.
When I called Glock about it, the guy yells across the room...
Hey! This guy got a "A*!!!" Someone else picked up the phone...
When I asked him what the big deal was about?
Turns out, Glock only made a about 500 or less of them.
Then change the numbing on the next batch of pistols.
They want to see it. So, I sent in to Glock USA.
I shoot it all the time. I once won a GSSF match with it!
Now I have more glocks... I guess the plastic gun caught on... Huh?
Tic Toc, I Love My Glock's...

I didnt know that Glock started with "A". I always thought Glock started with serial number "AA000". The serial numbers went up to "AA999" and then rolled over to "AB000", etc. Once they reached "ZZ999", it rolled over to "AAA000", and so on. Pistols imported into the United States have a "US" on the end of the serial number on the frame.

Yep, that's right... I did not post the full ser #. I used a "*" instead.

My Glock 19 is my primary carry gun. I love it.

I can shoot 1911's better, I like the way other guns look better, but for everyday carry there is no other gun on earth that I trust more. G26, G19, and G17 are three guns I will never give up.

Bullseye!

I started out with a G23 (Gen 2) that I've had since 1995. My wife liked it much better than the 1911 I got later so she got a G17 in 2002. She never shoots it but I use it for USPSA Production and IDPA SSP fairly regularly. I am planning on getting Warren sights for both eventually. The 23 gets the tritium two dot and the 17 the plain rear and fiber optic front.
The oldest wants the M&P9 since she doesn't fit the Glocks very well. I am looking for a new USPSA Limited gun and have been leaning towards the 35 that I would LOVE to get an aluminum CCF Raceframe for. If the planets align and my CCW is approved (not likely, in MD) I'll get a 26 for carry.

It carries very well. I carry a 26 just about everywhere I legally can.

Duty weapon is now a G17 (was a G19) and a G30 for concealed carry (was a Kimber Ultra Carry)
-
Yup! Got a GLOCK 30 on my desk as I type!!! I've also shot a G21 (My favorite GLOCK.), a G23 (Very Nice.), and a G36 (Which I didn't like the feel of and couldn't shoot that well with.). I'd like to get a G21 sooner or later. 8)

Had a chance to shoot and watch others shoot a Glock 22 with the Rough Texture Frame. We fired several hundred rounds through the pistol, bare handed and with gloves. The new frame texture seemed to work quite well in keeping the hand in place on the frame, yet easy to shift the grip by releasing grip tension. Noted by all the shooters was the security offered while wearing gloves. Nomex fiber knit, Hatch leather and kevlar, and assorted other types of leather gloves, all found a more secure grip when compared to a current "conventional" grip texture Glock frame. I ran water over my hands and found the new texture offering a very secure grip in spite of the moisture. All of these circumstances were compared to the "conventional" grip texture and the RTF was found to be superior in all cases. The new slide serrations were about 50/50 in opinions as to whether it was an improvement.
Glock 23 is expected to be the next pistol offered in this RTF finish. Others to follow.
I would guess the service life of the texture will depend on what is exposed to the various textured areas. The texture is applied to the sides, including the "thumb rests", the finger grooves and the back strap. I'd expect not all of those areas will be exposed to wear. An obvious candidate would be the lower end of the sides, that are exposed by the holster.
We also fired the 21 and 30, in the SF versions. Probably not a smart move for me, as I can see a new Glock 30 in my immediate future. A ported Glock 18 rounded out the event, with much full auto fun.
-
Nice debrief...... How did you come about getting the chance to have time with the new textured Glock?
-
what is the sf designation on the glocks

Glock actually shipped a number of the new pistols to distributors. This sample was the reps gun.

Think it's for "Small Frame", I could be wrong.

SF= Short Frame The grip is smaller in circumference. Think of it as a shorter length of pull. Yes I am mostly a rifle guy.

It took nearly five years of legal struggle against the Nazi German gunlaw and three different sport shooters federations but today I finally made it!

Now I'll go for an AK.

What model is that?
-
Oh, it´s a Glock 17.
-
Congratulations on your FIVE year pursuit. WOW!
I would have moved to Switzerland. ::)
Do the German authorities plan on making home visits to check things out?
-
Congratulations Pepper, long wait, I hope you enjoy your 17, and practice a lot with it. Do you have competition opportunities, through your shooting organizations? Are those full capacity magazines? I surely hope so. Let us know how it performs.
-
Thank you gentlemen for all the warm words! There are some competitions taking place during the spring and summer season. I will definitively take part in most of them. German authorities have the right to check on weapon owners and visit them even in there homes without a search warrant. This country is really crazy! But hey, I don't care for now. I'm going to give that bad boy some rangetime next Wednesday to see how it performs.
-
Are those full capacity magazines?
They are! Only good thing about the German gunlaw. Magazines are items everybody can buy without any permission. I already ordered 6 more.
