Man allegedly beats school bus driver to death after he accidentally knocked off mirror!
NEW YORK – A school bus driver who was beaten into a coma after a minor traffic accident along his route has died of his injuries, his employer said Saturday.
Juan DelValle, 65, was taken off life support and died Friday at the hospital where he had been treated since the June 11 attack, an Atlantic Express Transportation Group spokeswoman said.
"The career of a school bus driver is a demanding one with great responsibility, but it should never be one where hardworking, honorable people are subjected to vicious and senseless violence," the company said in a statement.
DelValle, an Atlantic Express employee for eight years, was driving down a Bronx street when his yellow bus clipped the side mirror on a double-parked car. Two middle school students were on the bus at the time; they weren't hurt.
DelValle got out of the bus, and the car's driver accosted and punched him, authorities said. With the middle-schoolers looking on, DelValle was knocked off his feet, and his head hit the pavement.
He never regained consciousness, Atlantic Express spokeswoman Carolyn Daly said.
The car's driver has been charged with assault and is jailed on $250,000 bond. He hasn't entered a plea, court records show. He's due back in court on Monday.
DelValle, who was from Puerto Rico, was preparing to retire, Daly said.
"He was a wonderful, gentle man who did his job professionally and with great dedication and compassion," the company said.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced.

I guess this will be upgraded to murder now.

They did not mention the make of the or age of the car, if it was a Ferrari I would not blame the guy.
There may be more to this than it would appear.

I don't give a crap what kind of car it was! Simply knocking a mirror off of a parked car does not justify assault! Even if there were harsh words exchanged, you don't have the right to put your hands on another person for any reason other than the defense of your person or family, period!

There are a lot of drivers who should be beat to death.
Preferably with their cell phones.

You cannot put people to death for stupidity! I checked!
..you can't even beat them up!
If someone is doing something stupid behind the wheel of the car they're driving, jot the LN down and call the cops! Let them beat them up, they don't give a f..k about rights for the most part anyway!

The car was double parked. Parked illegally. No telling how much room the parker left for other traffic and maybe he was blocking the bus's lane and the driver had to go around. And I don't think someone who feels they are important enough to block the way of others is going to make sure they leave plenty of room for those they deliberately block. I'd guess he was mad the bus driver didn't just wait until his important business was finished.
Too bad they aren't going to be able to hang Murder 1 on the guy.

Oh yeah, great idea, put one more cell using a hole on the road .
I've seen cops talking on the cell and trying to type in their computer while driving.
Probably had a coffee and donut in his lap at the same time. >:(

Well, at least in NYC you can be reasonably assured that the guy didn't have a handgun...someone might have gotten hurt.
