For those of you that don't know, today is NATIONAL BUY A GUN DAY!!
It’s that time of year again!
April 15th is of course tax day. YUCK. Make it a good day and celebrate your right to bear arms and defend yourself, your family, and your property. Buy a gun!
If you’re not buying a gun this year because you don’t have the money or you don’t need another one or whatever, get an NRA membership.
JUST A UNUSUAL BIT OF INFORMATION. I AM GOING TO RUN HOME AND TELL THE WIFE.. (LOL) ;D ;D

Just took delivery of an Ishapore .308. Just came in the mail! (UPS)

Uh Haz,

I say hallelujah and pass the ammunition!

Literally just got it today (hour ago) and I have to clean it (cosmoline) so it will be a few days. Sorry.

Being new to C&R I will have to go get a gallon of paint thinner and a couple of brushes to clean her up. I'll take pics of the process and post 'em.
And here is one I was hiding from y'all.
5.5 .22 SS in stainless!!

Nice guns Haz... It'll be cool to watch the clean up process..

I was hoping to pick up the Lancaster "Russian Red" AK I have on order, but it's not ready yet. However, since it's paid for, I'm going to call it my BAG day gun. AKs, ARs, Minis, I love 'em all.
What I will be getting (hopefully sooner than later):

And they were.....?
I ordered some of the Rings Bluegun simulators of four personal favorite pistols - the P99QA, the Glock 34, the Px4 Storm, and an HK P7, all shot on my last trip to Utah.
Because, in no other way am I going to get four handguns in Cook County.
Filthy communists!

R Lee is getting impatient with you son. ;D Sorry Haz, I posted this from your first post so I did not see your answer, Mineral spirits works great on cosmoline but you will need some scrub brushes, Best If you can come up with say a 55 gallon drum cut in half, like for a BBQ put in about 5 gallons of mineral spirit, disassemble rifle let it soak for a while then scrub the crap out of it.
We used to use warm gasoline, that was tricky, and interesting ;D Oh, remember, Mineral spirits will remove the stock finish as well.

I would have loved to buy a gun, but I kind of broke after paying my taxs...

Yeah, Really! Maybe it should be National Rob a Bank Day.
The government could save money by allowing those who will recieve a tax refund to take their refund in surplus weapons or ammo. Am I a genius or what?

Naw, they would just send one of those $2.000.00 toilet seats ;)

I'd rather have them do that then pay for illegal aliens

I think those guys are on to something here.

ALMOST have the wife convinced to get an M&P-9 in HER name for the oldest since her birthday is May 24. She wants an M&P after shooting a friend's. I was trying to push for an FNP-9 or pre-owned Sig 226, but have lost that one (so far). That's OK since I'm the only one that actually goes to the range regularly so I get it most of the time.

THANKS Mosbear! It looks like good info.

Glad to see ya got it HAZ I knew you wanted one for a while, just do what Tom suggested but take the furniture off first. Taxes are already gone but I go back to 40 hours (I hope) soon and when I get my rebate I am going to pick up a SP101 and combat type 12 ga.

Thanks, Gman.
It will not be started this weekend (unfortunately) as I have to rebuild my company computer system. My main died first thing Monday morning and I have been scrambling all week! Bought a new system but now I have to try to get the data transfered and the network back up and the billing done and...and...etc. sigh.....

OOOOH NOOOOOOOOO! Well maybe soon you will wake up and the nightmare will be over. At least you got something good today. Hope it gets better for you.

That stinks. Working for the other guy may pay crap but at least I don't have THOSE kinds of worries. Good luck with it Haz.

On my way up today possibly to Lawmen Supply for a new M&P for the oldest/wife (that I'll use more than both). Not using the tax money (it was spent on new appliances/bedroom furniture) but I am using a per diem check from the last two day trip to DC.
