Praying for the family and victims of those injured or killed last night by drunk drivers, human trafficking, and spouse/child abuse. Also praying for those in Colorado.
Posted on Facebook by a pastor friend from our town.
According to CNN the only thing that has happened in the last 48 hours anywhere in the world is a shooting in Denver, CO >:(

It could have been worse - a little white girl could have gone missing. That's CNN's bread and butter, isn't it?

There are two missing in Iowa, and the FBI had a top dive team working today. Sorry you missed it!

100 people a day die by automobile on average. 35K a year give or take...who's calling on restrictions....how many people died on the operating table yesterday? Who's calling on restrictions? How many people died from just being stupid? Is anyone really trying to educate these folks?
blah, blah, blah, blah....I finally lit into my sister in law tonight....I couldn't take her BS much longer so I filled her in with the facts! She's not talking to me now!
Mission accomplished! ;D

[STANDING OVATION]
I'm in the same frame of mind, no one wants to go there for some reason and I am avoiding FB for a while. Sheeple....
Anyone else checking their firearm more regularly? The world took another step closer...

Actually, and I played a very small part in it, CNN bread and butter is criminal trials of black athletes.

Actually, and I'm sorry if M58 thought I was making light of the tragedy that surrounds missing children, I was referring to the lack of any credible news on CNN and how they simply exploit the most emotional situations to (attempt to) milk the ratings. I find them to be the worst of the pandering bottom feeders and of no value in any legitimate discussion or news "reporting".
If they plan on making careers out of following the criminal trials of black athletes they should have an inexhaustible supply of material.
And as a Saturday night special bonus - if there are any tequila drinkers out there (you know what a caballito is) you should check out the Espolon offerings. Very good quality and actually quiet affordable - kind of the flip side of Patron. </tequila snob>

There was a slogan in Newspapering, "If it bleeds, it leads".Hype and sensationalism sell papers which sells advertising which is where the media get what profits are left.
That and advancing their political interests are all the media execs care about.

That sounds mighty familiar to another slogan I have heard, probably best I head off to the corner now before I say it

I was referring to the OJ trial. I think it was the real beginning of the downward trend at CNN. It did (for better or worse) launched a number of careers including Greta Van Susteren's and Bill Hemmer's. And whether you like them or not they both had the sense to leave.

I understood what you were saying. I don't normally watch CNN, but I did on Friday to see what anti-gun spin they would produce. In watching them I saw that nothing else was going on and you just happened to pick an example that is happening in our back yoard.
I didn't take it as you making light, I wasn't offended, and all is well between us.
