Good vid/song.

Great call! And another by Jr. Brown, since you can never have too much Texas music. My personal favorite :You're wanted by the Po-lice and my wife thinks you're dead". ;D

Thanks Ichiban. Here's the single's B-side:

The one that hooked me.
A live version - years later.

I love Lucinda Williams ...almost as much as I love Diana Krall. Hope Maggie doesn't find out.

Steve Goodman wrote some killer songs.

"Dick Dale is an American surf rock guitarist, known as The King of the Surf Guitar. He pioneered the surf music style, drawing on Eastern musical scales and experimenting with reverberation."

Two greats together (ya gotta excuse that cheesy wig!).
Saving the best for last.
Music starts about one minute in.

There IS NO EXCUSE for that wig.

OK, If you want to go there, I'll go there .
Can any one tell me who made that one famous ? ;D

The Harlem Globetrotters used that last song.

The Harlem Globetrotters used that last song.
Correct, "Sweet Georgia Brown" was the Harlem Globetrotters Theme song.
-
Try this one on for size. Benny goodman's "Sing Sing Sing'. If this doesn't rock, I don't know what does. 8)

Yep. WTF is wrong with the Brits? At least the latinos get freaking jobs. The Brits have lost their minds, here, we're just heavily buzzed, but its a slippery slope. Step one, No immigrants from muslim countries unless the've aided our forces. Beyond that preference goes to nations with a similar level of education. Then Asia and Mexico and select LA countries. The rest, we'll pass thanks.

A little Alejandro Escovedo for you this evening.
-
I don't know where I heard this but it stuck in my brain for awhile. You can all suffer with me. ;)
-
My favorite lately has been Madison Rising; it gives me hope that young people are producing music like this.

Rodrigo y Gabriela

I saw one in the publix parking lot today. It was all I could do to keep it in my pants. ;D It was a Vincent from the sixties, not the Black Lightining, maybe a Black Shadow, but dayum what a bike! Those things are works of art. Hell I'd probably wreck it in half a block with the left handed controls, but God I want one. Anyway, here's a great Saturday tune and you can't beat the guitar work, some of the best accoustic ever as far as I'm concerned. Richard Thompson "Vincent Black Lightning".

Really need to revive this thread.
