I know most of you guys are into the self-defense/tactical guns, but I have always had a soft spot for the old Ruger Blackhawks. Toughest guns made, IMHO. Anyway, here are the ones I currently own:

From top to bottom:
Blackhawk in .45 Colt
Super Blackhawk .44 Mag
Blackhawk .357 Mag
Single Six .22LR/.22 Mag

I had no clue you were a Ruger fan, gunman. ;)
Very nice collection. One thing everyone agrees on about Ruger's is that they are tough guns.

First gun I purchased was a Ruger Blackhawk in .357.
A Capt. I served with had one and when I showed an interest, he took me plinking with it and I loved it. Decided I'd get one, one day.
I was discharged in June of 68 and the GCA of 68 was looming large on the immediate horizon so I hustled and got one before it could pass.
Years later, I added a Blackhawk in .45 Colt. That was probably the most accurate and easy to shoot non-rimfire pistol I've owned.
Both had long barrels, 7 1/2", which I preferred since a 12" wasn't readily available

7 1/2 inch .357 Blackhawk was the first pistol I bought when I got out of the Marines in '80

Very nice gunman.... Even though I have the "tacticool" stuff,....I am always drawn to the true SA Revolvers.
Even my Cap & Ball .44 ::)
These are my "Big 3" SA's....

Hey TW, is the cap and ball a Dragoon ?
It was the most powerful revolver of it's time.

I wish it were a Dragoon,, it is an 1851 Colt Navy Replica, from Cabela's ...The tacticool reloads take about a minute and a half if I rush,...but it throws a .44 ball accurately to 25 yds....with 36 grains of Black Powder, Wonder Wads, and a bit of Lube to top off the cylinders so the rds. don't move..
It sure runs the mosquito's off but has almost no recoil, and is a literal "blast" to shoot....
The rear sights are actually notched into the top of the hammer. A handy touch back in the day,...Old school, not very tacticool at all, but seemed to work back in the day, with spare cylinders, and a good Cutlass/Sabre.....as back up....

Did somebody say Single Actions?

Very nice 3 screw Rugers majer. I used to own several myself. I sold them all when everyone started going ape crap crazy over them and getting big bucks. I never minded the New Model Rugers, I actually like them just fine.

You guys make me drool! Actually, at my age, that is really natural. My first handgun was a Colt Trooper Mk III in .357mag, short barrel. That is a DA, of course. What made me drool was all the SA's you guys show in the pics. I have two: a Ruger Super BlackHawk .44mag w/7 1/2" barrel that my son "borrowed" and a CVA replica Remington 1858 Texan (rebel) in .44cal. Don't seem to need any of them semi-auto newfangled defense guns, as the .357 seems to keep predators away. Of course, liberals could convince me to pick up an FNH five-seven pistol and carbine, just for grins! Love your SA's!

:) :) SWEET PISTOLAS, GUYS!!!
I JUST BOUGHT A SUPER BLACKHAWK SS IN .357, WITH 6.5 BARREL. MAN, OH MAN!! I NEVER THOUGHT I COULD LIKE A PSTOL BETTER THAN MY .44's, BUT THIS THING IS TOO NICE! :o TOO, THE PRICE OF .44's JUST KEEPS RISING, SEEMSS LIKE EVERY TIME I GO TO THE TOY STORE. :'( :'(
SO NOW THE .357 IS ON THE BEDSTAND, RIGHT NEXT TO THE 12 GA. ;D
