The Quaker is back from exile. My old man is alive and well post heart attack, and I am back in Palm Beach County (Just in time for Isaac ::) ). The thing is, my cable got fried by a lightning strike, and Comcast says it will take them six weeks to fix it since they need permits to rewire under the driveway. This annoys me, and I've never been their number one fan even before this. ATT seems to offer more channels and faster internet, and will throw in a land line for $115 per month if I go with them, and I don't have worry about weather like I would with a satellite system like Dish or DirectTV. Have any of y'all used ATT? What was your experience?
Thanks

Welcome back FQ! Sorry to hear about all your family trouble.
We use AT&T for cell phones...they're whores just like the rest of them, but the have to be better than Comcast.

Never used ATT . But welcome back.
(I know I'm going to regret saying that ;D )

You're not going to find ATT a whole lot better customer service-wise. However, one they get it working and if you have no issues, then I've found their Internet product to work quite well.
I'd love to tell you about Uverse, but we don't have it on our street.
On the flip side, I've never had a problem with DirecTV. I love the UI and as far as storms: It just gives me a 2 minute warning when I should turn everything off anyway.

FQ? who's that?
never heard of it....
welcome back dude. on a high note, I'm within 20 minutes of your place. give me a shout and we can get a drink sometime. (for the next two, three, maybe four weeks anyway).

I gotta go with the basic slant here!
AT&T as a company sucks! It's the only cell service I've ever had and it began with Cingular...too lazy to change. Comcast is terrible too so it's a wash.

I have U verse and it's good but price keeps going up and just got a notice they were updating their products for a faster response on their products. I will see and if not I have Surewest that just set up shop around here and the New Google fiber is coming soon and suppose to be about 100 times faster. The only problem I have with google is the spying they do according to reports on the net.

Speaking of letting AT&T into you house ... Does anybody remember the movie, The President's Analyst? Wasn't "the phone company" the bad guy?
