BHO can put his 'firearms salesman of the year award' right next to his Nobel Prize. ::) ::) ::)
According to the FBI, 12 million people have undergone background checks during the first eight months of this year in order to purchase a firearm. That is 4.5 million more than the same period four years ago.

The best part is that the number is less than the number of gun sales since several states do not require NICS checks for CCW holders.
-
And it doesn't include C&R transfers either I bet. Not that we're a really big number.
-
Has anyone seen any numbers for how many of those checks are for first-time buyers? It would be interesting to know how many guns are going to new gun owners compared to folks expanding their collections.

You have to give BO credit, he's been the best thing for the AR since Stoner.
FQ13 who just got another six mags.

A trade association REALLY SHOULD give Obama a "Gun Salesman of the Decade" award. He deserves it. Why not? He's already got the Nobel.

Heck, then NRA should hold a special ceremony and invite him. The empty chair routine would be priceless.

That could be hilarious.
I wonder if the new gun owners have caused a spike in NRA new memberships?
It could be a dual award ceremony Firearms Salesman of the Decade and NRA Membership Recruiter of the Year.
Make it like a Reverse Roast.....praise him for all the stuff we encourage and he hates.
Even his absence can be hyped as a benefit to all.
Think of who to invite to the Roast.

It would also be interesting to know how many were "off paper" sales. By that I mean people who up until now did not own a firearm, but purchased one or more privately at various gun shows, and through ads for private sales, so as not to show up on any Federal computers, or leave a paper trail. A lot of people are fearing that these days, as the government becomes more and more intrusive into peoples private lives.

I certainly added to that number this year. ;D
