Green is better than red, to me. It's going on a rifle.
Cheaper is better as long it works and lasts..
Not looking for junk, just best value..
Thoughts?

Buy once, cry once.
You get what you pay for. I'd go with Crimson Trace's MVF if it were me but I don't own an AR-YET!
I do understand why you're looking for something cheaper than the $649 MSRP for the MVF, but its the latest and greatest and will last so when amertised over the life of the product it may be cheaper in the end.
EDIT: I see them on Amazon for $399 for the red lazer, which stings a little less. BTW the green lazer MVF is $549 on Amazon.

I got a genisis rechargeable from Midway for a couple of hundred.... I like it.

I'm partial to my TLR-2 but it's pushing $300. ::)

Anybody heard of the "ITAC"?
It's made by (or for) Sig. My guy up that way likes em alot.
The only thing is, it's for a rifle and I'd rather have a green laser for that kind of application..

They're supposed to be better, but, how much better? I may be wrong here, but it seems like its still a low light, close range app. For that, might you be better off with a good red dot like aimpoint or eotech and maybe a tac light mount? On a pistol, or a dedicated CQB carbine, yeah. On a general purpose SHT rifle? I'm a bit leery. It seems that you can get a used eotech for $250 or so and buy a forearm mounted good enough tac light for a lot less. Just a thought.

I've got time, I guess.
I just blew $50 I didn't have at the local fair, pigging out on average BBQ and "actual" Mexican food..
Good looking steers while I was eating grandpa on a bun.. (Cattlemen's Sauce,of course..) I guess that means I'm not in as big of a hurry as I feel like I am..
Yeah, I can piece it together.. I've got a green laser on the shotgun where a good Tac light would be much better applied. I got a good deal on it a few years back and that was there it ended up.. I'm getting a Mako 7 position front grip for it. It may end up looking like it's got the little courtesy 4 cup coffee pot from the motel on there, doing it like this..
I was hoping that prices had come down enough to make for a slightly more streamlined profile than the last time I messed around with outfitting a new toy..
SANTA'S GETTING A NEW Aaaaa Kaaaa!!! ;D
Sorry.. Haven't done the Snoopy Dance in a while..
Spring and Fall seem like "New Toy Fever" season for me.. Thing is, now I'm broke.. It took trading a Kimber to get it.. Good trade, though.. A good AK will increase in value while a 1911 will tread water.. Not that I like the idea of getting rid of anything, (except maybe the AR-7).
Any suggestions "on a budget" are welcome.. Till I've got the money, I've got time..
Since this month was the Lawn Mower breaking down and next month is a fix on the Heat Pump, Property Taxes/Tag and an oil change, I guess November is the target.. :'(
