In yet another example of those evil guns "going off," a Philly cop shoots a hole in the TSA break room as he attempts to unload a .38 S&W revolver confiscated from a flight attendant.
PHILADELPHIA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT - September 23, 2012 (WPVI) -- It appears it was an unintentional act, but police say a handgun found inside the bag of a flight attendant at Philadelphia International Airport turned into a big deal this morning.
snip
A Philadelphia police officer was trying to unload the .38 when it accidentally fired a round into the wall.

Maybe cops shouldn't be allowed to play with things they don't understand.

Revolvers Do Not Just Go Off!!!
Keep Your Buger Hook Off The Bang Switch!!!
As far as how a forbidden item could get to the TSA screener I will plead the Fifth ;)

Jayzuss!! I can understand how a glock goes off when a bonehead tries to break it down for cleaning, it's extremely retarded but I understand it.
But a freaking revolver??? ::)
-
But the Brady bunch tell us that only the police are trained enough to be trusted with guns.
-
Good thing he didn't confiscate a grenade. ;D A revolver, seriously? Oi vey!

PS, On second thought, this guy might be perfect for EOD. "Okay Sgt. Bilko, take this package and walk very carefully 50 paces that way. Then, shake it really hard". ;)

What if it was a single action and the half calk was broke?

S&W doesn't make a single action revolver.

S&W doesn't make a single action revolver.
But Philadelphia obviously make single cell brained coppers...

The ignorance of these "Trained Professionals", along with the totally stupid media that reports it, is beyond belief.

TAB,
If you watch the video you will see it is a S&W 442 Airweight.
Operator Error!!!

Operator Error!!!
And the 442 has a transfer bar so the trigger MUST be depressed all the way to the finger guard to make it go BANG!
Dumbass Operator Error!!!!

I could only handle 41 seconds of that video. :P That damn thing gave me a headache. It's bad enough that the TSA agent couldn't figure out how to unload a revolver safely, but paranoid fear mongering by the newscasters was just pathetic! Where's the barf emocon?

Oh wait! Wait!
This was Philadelphia. Oh that explains it.
