Round here I use a .45LC with 340 grain bullets,  but not for the mushrooms for the bears that come along with them!

Rastus.. Isn't that the truth? I can't believe it when people say.. frog legs taste like chicken.. or quail taste like chicken.. What? :o
No it doesn't.. Quail taste like ... quail.
Frog Legs taste like... frog legs....helloooo??
But the best is when someone won't eat 'nuts'..(mountain oysters..) because <quote>  " Eewwww, I just couldn't ever eat THOSE because of what they are.. ::)   sighhhhh ....WHAT--EVER! ::)
So to get them to at least try it..you lie and say, it tastes like chicken..
or better yet just tell the idiots that they ARE chicken nuggets! So then they eat them and they like them and then you tell them the truth and then they change their mind and say that they didn't like them and  are mad and hate you forever....,end of story. LOL

And Morels are the best things you have ever put in your mouth in the form of a mushroom. They do not taste like other mushrooms at all.
We go out and find them (in fact now is the time they are sprouting) and they are awesome.
Had a friend bring us a huge brown grocery sack full last week and I cooked them up for everyone last night.
Take them..slice them length wise, wash them real good, whip up raw eggs, real cream and salt and pepper and pour over them. Let it set a bit.
Then from that, take each one and roll it in a mixture of corn meal and flour. Drop them into hot oil and fry until crisp and you have something fit for a king.
Sometimes I use a deep well-seasoned cast-iron skillet, melt bacon grease 1-2" deep and fry them in that.
Last night we had the mushrooms and I also fried about 4 chickens, made a big batch of homemade hot rolls...made cinnamon rolls and chocolate chip cookies for dessert...and the boys grilled about 3 bundles of asparagus on the grill to go with it.

I'm tellin' you , when we were all done eating we looked like fat happy pigs after a day in the apple orchard.
