Last night I was watching one of the "other" gun shows and they had interviews with Todd Jarrett, Doug, Koenig, and Rob Leatham talking about their gear they used at S&W's Light/Laser match held recently. While I will never be able to compete on their level I would like to have the options they do in gear. >:( The other competitors were using basically stock pistols (M&P, CZ, and Glocks) these three are using one of one 1911s. Para makes a Hi-cap 1911 but the only one in the catalog is the LDA version in 45 but Todd had a P-18 9mm SA with a rail. Doug’s was a SW1911DK with a rail in 38 Super. Rob even said that his Springer Operator was hand built for him in 9mm and was the only one like it. Nothing against these great competitors but I’d really like a Hi-cap 1911 SA with a rail as a catalog item instead of a specialty order with required price increase, a la STI Tactical. I emailed Para a while back if they were going to have one but never got a response, probably due to my work email firewall. GRRR!!! Whining over. :'(

Dawson makes an add on rail. It would probably be quicker to buy on and have it installed. I don't know anything about it but I've seen a one used on a gun in a magazine article.

Corporate sponsors are great aren't they? Having a pistol with several zeroes factored in the price, custom built, etc,.. would be great to have built for me too. I have a hard time trying not to covet the 38 Super,1911 Super Duper, one of a kind, whoop ass pistol, but I enjoy the ones I have, and slowly build up and tweak them as I can.
Plus there's always the lottery 8)
Rant anytime.. I'm going to buy 500 pounds of rice,...
