Title: Time to flush
Post by: fightingquaker13 on November 06, 2012, 05:54:10 AM
Well, I got up this morning and shat, showered and shaved. Now I need to go vote so I can flush one giant mistake away. Hope y'all show up as well. Lines are supposed to be long, but I'm patient when I need to be.

What?  You didn't early vote?  Bring a MP3 player.   8)

Maggie and I are going after work and we'll wait as long as it takes. It's Tidy Bowl time.

That's my plan as well. I figure the lines will be shorter if you avoid the early morning, lunchtime and after work rushes. Of course 10,000 people probably have the same "cunning plan". ;D

Dedicated to all the silly people that braved 2+ hours to early vote.

I was in line a 6am.  First one.  Joined by neighbors I don't normally see.    Three AF veterans in the first 10 in line.  The lady behind me knew my best friend' best friend.   We lamented how in 4 to 8 years we will probably no longer have "precincts" just voting places.  How there will be voting on-line and the loss of sense of community.

I voted and was in the truck on the way to breakfast by 7:05.  Great time jawin' with the poll workers too.

Here's the line behind me at about 6:20.

My flush began at 7:10 and complete at about 7:15 am, nowhere near the front and not in the back but my district had no waiting once inside the door.

Done deal..

Got to the local coffee shop a little after 7AM, people who came in who had already voted said there were lines.
By the time I got to the polls at about 8:45 the lines were gone but I got the only empty booth,.
I imagine they will be packed again at lunch and after work.

I just got back. After the news reports about long lines for early voting I came prepared with a mini-cooler full of ice water and some peanutbutter crakers in case I was in line through lunch. Guess what? No line. None, not even one person ahead of me at the table. I was in and out in five minutes. The good news? My district is so Democratic that there wasn't even a GOP candidate on the ballot for state rep. If this how turnout is in Blue districts in Florida, BO has some problems. ;D

Nov 3  Change the clock
Nov 6 Change the President

Heard that before and like it.

Just read a review of the big 30k attendee rally for Romney in Ohio.  It mentioned that at the small Obama rally close by, they were chanting

4 MORE YEARS

While at the Romney rally they were chanting

4 MORE DAYS

 :D :D :D :D

At my age, PRI 1A is to live four more years; PRI 1B is to live those four years in freedom; PRI 1C is to vote out the bastard that denies me PRI 1B. The rest of my priorities pale in comparison. I'm off to vote in 30 minutes, line or no line.

I got lucky today. There was a very short line for my district and a 2-1/2 hour wait for the other district. I hope the Obama supporters get tired of waiting and leave.

Ohio Data: Turnout Up In Red Counties; Down In Blue

On CNN, the correspondent with the Obama campaign reported that Team Obama is telling her that they see nothing in the Ohio turnout that looks any different from what they expected -- in other words, the polls were correct.

Take that for what it's worth.

Below is some information from a GOP source; actual data. It doesn't tell us everything but it does tell us something.

I am watching the Twitternets where I follow even more left-wing media types than my fellow Righties. If there's actual data showing Obama counties experience some kind of turnout surge, I haven't seen it, but I will report it if I do.

Quick update – turnout is up in GOP Geauga County, Ohio where McCain won with 57% of the vote and down in Athens County, the home of Ohio University and where Obama won with 67% in 2008. Early vote in Geauga? 125% of 2008. Athens? Down 10% from 2008.

    SHOT: GOP county turnout up

Plain Dealer: Geauga election chief predicts 80 percent voter turnout today
Geauga County early vote was 125% more than 2008 early vote
McCain won Geauga County with 57% and Bush got 60% in ‘04
        CHASER: Dem county turnout down
WOUB: Athens County Election Officials: Morning Voter Turn Out Low
Athens County early vote was 10% less than 2008 early vote
Obama won Athens County with 67%

ADDED from a GOP source:

Butler County (outside Cincinnati) where McCain won with 61% and Bush with 66%. Early voting was also good for Romney at 121% of 2008.

    · Early voting was 121% of 2008

    · McCain got 61 percent, Bush 66%

That's the data to wrap some context around this news report:

In Butler County, voters were out at polling spots before the doors opened, said Jocelyn Bucaro, deputy director of the Butler County Board of Elections.

Bucaro said there was a 30-minute line at the board of elections office, located at 1802 Princeton Road.

“We had lines at most polling locations at 6:30 a.m.,” she said. “Lines have quieted down and there’s a steady stream.”

Bucaro said she anticipates a total of 175,000 voters in Butler County casting a ballot this presidential election through absentee and in-person voting. She said a total of 46,387 absentee ballots have been cast in the county.

We went out after work and voted the right way. Watching tv now and I'm not seeing much that is encouraging. Like I said before, a large voter turnout just means there's more dumbasses pulling levers. I"m hoping, but I"m not optomistic.

I was nervous when I heard that nationwide we were getting a large college age turn out.  Candidates don't hit campuses, but the campaigns go out and play the popularity game to get the silly putty involved.

Youth voted for obama. I tell my kids they and their children will have to pay the tabs he has and will run up. Tough ta-tas. Gridlock can be a good thing and will have to serve us well for the next 4 years.

The racist minorities voted for obama. Yeah, I said it, racist...when you vote for or against someone based on the color of their skin, that's racist. Racism is alive and well, but it's ok when it serves the liberal narrative.

Sadly, obama was ripe for the picking and the republicans couldn't field a team. They come up with a third string wanna-be to run for president, a guy who admittedly is an ok guy, squeaky clean, but not likeable, and then they play it "safe" for the election. You can't beat a lousy president with a lousy candidate and lousy policies.

Until there's a party that can bring a gun to the gunfight, we'll all be stuck with knives.
Time to call Roto-Rooter.

Plus 10 Jaybet. The Dems should have been able to kick W.'s ass in 2004. Who did they send? Kerry, the only guy who could lose that race. So of course the GOP thought another hair obsessed rich guy from Massachusetts  was the perfect candidate against BO. Idiots! AND CAN WE PLEASE GET A FREAKING BEATING YOUR HEAD AGAINST A WALL ICON? ;D

Obama can't spend a dime with out the house... Its up to them to bring back balanced budges, but we all know they won't.

FIFY, Reid has blocked us from having a legal budget for 4 years.
The "spending bills that have been passed are not Constitutional .

Have to agree with TAB on this.   But this time, BHO just had a very much higher CFM rating than Romney.

Doesn't matter, all spending may have to originate in the House but all bills have to pass through the Senate after the House approves them and Harry Reid has blocked every attempt at a Constitutionally proper budget.
Come on, this is basic civics.

And if they had any balls, they could shut down all funding and reject every bill until he lets one make it too the floor.   they just don't have the balls for it.

You mean really smart cuts like not paying the military or the guards at ADMAX/Florence Co.
