Title: M1A Scout - what say ye?
Post by: Ichiban on November 09, 2012, 10:03:19 PM
I have an opportunity to pick up a Springfield M1A Scout 16 at a decent (good but not great) price.  I've kind of been jonesing for one of these for a while but, I don't know - it is a lot of money and I'll have to move current stock to make this happen.

Whatta ya think?  Is it worth it?

No, it is not.  You should never consider buying it.  Instead, tell me where it is and how much they want! ;D

All that aside.  Go for it.  I've wanted one since my M-14 days in the service.

Get it now while you still can.
Even with out any kind of ban increased demand will cause prices to soar and supplies to disappear.

Indeed, in situations such as that, you must pull the trigger rapidly.   ;)

Just like last week when a good friend offered me first shot at a half-case of .45 ACP for $60........ BAM!, put it in the back seat.   :D

That is super sweet Ichi, but Im not sold on the "scout" concept. Dont deminish  the effectiveness of the rifle with a scout scope

Nice rifle and nice shooting.  What ammo?  I would love an M1A.  To me, it is what a battle rifle should be.  Are you going to put the walnut stock on it?

Nice gun! Mine has been running like a top. I'm glad because I was a bit reluctant to buy it. Sometimes when they start altering gas systems to run properly with a chopped barrel they can become problematic. Not this one. Springfield got it right the first time. Mine groups like yours. My aging eyes don't help.

I say, "Yes!"   OH WAIT.  You already got it.

Very cool.  I do like the idea of the M1A Scout.  No need really for the full sized one in the first place.   both of youse guys' guns look great.
