Title: Here We Go Again
Post by: billt on November 22, 2012, 06:26:01 AM
Another "truce" in the Middle East. Will this one hold for 15 minutes, or 4 hours like the last 2,987 "truces"? This silly crap has been going on non stop in the Middle East since the early 70's. These 2 bit outfits like Hamas, or the PLO back in it's day would selectively pick on Israel with a rocket in a school yard, a suicide bomber in a cafe, or a car bomb in a market here and there. Then Israel gets pissed off and starts to kick some serious ass, then right away we stick our nose into it and broker another bull$h!t "truce" that isn't worth the paper it's written on.

I wish to hell Israel would tell them OK, but if we get so much as a single terrorist attack from ANYONE we're going from one end of Gaza to the other, and kill everyone in sight. Women, kids, no consequence at all. Gaza will become an instant cemetery for every Hamas member in it. The words "peace" and "Middle East" have no business colliding in the same sentence anymore.

I can't blame them for hitting back on the murderous scum.

I say if Hamas starts it they don't get a say in when "it" stops.  And....that would  be a good lesson for us all.

Gaza

Carpet bomb the rat infested maggot reproducing hell-hole.  Rinse, repeat, until infestation is not longer capable of breathing.

Not that I have an opinion or anything.

The Israelis seem to be the only country left with an understanding of how to win a war.

When you are attacked, show no mercy to the attacker.

If only we could learn that lesson.

We have won no war since WWII.

Korea?

Vietnam?

Iraq?

Afghanistan?

Nope, not one win.

But, we certainly are politically correct as we lose.

Sheesh,

Crusader

I have to pick a small nit with CR.
The "War in Iraq" was actually 2 unrelated conflicts.
The first was the invasion and war against the Baathist Govt of Iraq headed by Saddam Husein. That was a conventional war between 2 national Armies and we won it hands down.
After the fall of SH there was a period of peace during which the occupying forces (us) disbanded the Iraqi Army and police forces.
This led to a  period of turmoil that presented a window of opportunity to Iran, Al Queda, and other factions to begin the second unrelated war against any forces trying to return Iraq to it's prewar stability under a less oppressive regime.
Remember that insurgent attacks were never solely against US forces, they were just as often against the Iraqi govt, or other pro stability factions.

Ah yes, I remember the checkbook diplomacy of Jimmy Carter.

Bribe them with billions, get a WalMart Peace Prize, repeat as needed. Has worked just as well since then.

He would support no one and do nothing. That has been his MO throughout his entire administration.

This obviously means Hamas has run out of ammo.

The truce will end within 30 minutes after the first resupply truck's arrival.

I'm worried that Obama and Clinton were so hard up for a negotiated settlement that they accepted Morsi's terms and they forced Israel to accept as well. The day after the cease fire, Morsi...having gained international respect in the process by virtue of Obama and Clinton...grabbed near dictatorial powers in Egypt. This is either by consent of Obama and Clinton or an "in yo face" to them by Morsi. Bet our borrowed money was involved as well. Can't wait to watch Morsi's next move!

Egyptians seem to have more balls than Americans, or a clearer memory of freedom.

CAIRO (Reuters) - Protesters stormed the headquarters of the Muslim Brotherhood's party in Alexandria on Friday, throwing chairs and books into the street and setting them alight, after the Egyptian president granted himself sweeping new powers.

Supporters of President Mohamed Mursi and opponents also threw stones at each other near a mosque in the city, Egypt's second largest, a witness said.

Two cars had glass smashed as the clashes moved away from the area.

In Port Said, another port on the Mediterranean, hundreds of protesters gathered outside the Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice party headquarters and pelted it with rocks. Some tried to storm it but did not enter, another witness said.

In Cairo, thousands demonstrated against the decree issued on Wednesday night.
