Title: I Wish They Would Stop With This Fear Mongering

"The Democrats have the votes to pass anything they want to impose upon us."

No they don't. Hussein had to move heaven and Earth to buy enough votes to pass health care with democratic control of everything. How are they going to pass any gun control bill with a Republican majority controlling the House? Do these people have even a clue about who's in charge of what? I can understand being watchful and concerned, but come on with this outright false nonsense and misinformation.

The House is full of RINOs so don't count BO out, arm twisting and trade offs are what politics is all about.

Grassroots!

It is time that those of us that remember and understand how and why this nation was founded do what was done then:

We need to be and act self sufficient.  We need to quit playing the entitlement and consolidation game.  We need to do our best to take care of ourselves and our families.  We need to Help our neighbors.  We need to band together to help others when we can't do it individually.

We need to quit looking to government grants and safety nets for help in disaster and need.

Why do so many liberals hate faith based organizations?  They hate them because (I'm leaving out the #1 that we recognize a supreme being who is better than all of us together) these organizations are very good at banding together to give a Hand up with life changing benefits.  Faith based relies on teaching how to fish rather than handing out fish.  When we band together to help a person make wise choices and life changing modifications to their lives the liberals lose their grip on the masses.

Take advantage of the "loopholes" in the tax code and give to your church or place of worship to help those in need with financial issues, health issues, or material needs (private food shelves, home repairs, places of shelter, clothing, transportation).  Next time you hear that your city or public school is going to build a playground and do it with grants from the State or Federal Government - Band together in a group to raise donations (tax deductible if given through a local foundation) and pay for it with private funds.

We need to make public control of our welfare system obsolete!  We need to do what Pres. GHW Bush meant when he set tax cuts in place so we could help each other rather than relying on big government.

If we band together to help our family, friends and neighbors we will not have the time or energy to worry about the fear mongering regardless of which side of the fear we are on.  The bigger benefit will be that we develop a strong community that cares for itself rather than a dependent community that the liberal class wants us to be!  Isn't this what capitalism is supposed to be all about when compared to socialism?

Someone else care to use the soapbox now?

I believe BHO will not endorse or promote any anti-firearm legislation until after the 2014 congressional elections. He will hope to increase seats in the House of Representatives and maintain or increase the Democrats majority in the Senate.  As for the Supreme Court, he can't move on that front until some dies or decides to retire.  One can only hope it will be an existing liberal justice like Ginsberg.  In that case it won't change the make up of the Court.  The retirement or death of "one of the Five" who voted in favor of Heller would definitely tip the balance.  It still boggles the mind that the vote wasn't 9-0.

The court won't touch heller, they will clarify things.

Do you mean the same way they would not touch Dredd Scot ?
We have a far greater enemy than "fear mongering", that is complacency.
The idiotic belief that just because a SCOTUS decision has been made that it is carved in stone, never to be revisited .
One vote from the existing SCOTUS and the Heller and McDonald cases would have gone the other way, in this term Obama will name at least 2 more Justices.
Think what that will do to the balance of the court.

Justice Holder.

Has a nice ring to it doesn't it? Ranks right up there with Justice Big Sis.

.......in this term Obama will name at least 2 more Justices.

I keep hearing this. Which 2 current serving conservative Justices are planning on retiring? And if they in fact are conservative, and are planning on retiring, who is to say they won't hold off for another 4 years now that Hussein is back? Many of these justices plan their departure based on who's in the White House when they decide to haul ass to the golf course. It's not like their job is that much of a ball breaker. The most likely to go is Ginsberg. Even Hussein will be hard pressed to find a replacement as liberal as her.

Ginsberg for sure, possibly Breyer as he's 74 this year.  Scalia and Kennedy are both north of 76 so either could drop dead any day now!

I think that is more of a threat than either retiring under Hussein. These guys practice their craft for a lifetime, and they are the few who aspire to sit on the highest court in the land. No one believes in their positions more than they do. That is why I think most plan their retirement around who they might be replaced by. Sickness and death would control the courts position more than a hardcore conservative judge retiring in good health under a liberal President.

No argument here Bill and I've pretty much heard Scalia say that very thing.  Kennedy I'm less sure about.

Fate could play a very serious role in the future of the country.
