For those that haven't heard a man wearing all black, a white mask and carrying what looked like an assault rifle ran through the parking lot, through Macy's and into the food court. At that time shots were fired into the air and he told everyone to get down. The end result was 3 dead, including the gunman who took his own life, and one injured.
So far the reporting has been just about the incident and interviewing people that were there. I'm not sure how long it will take for the gun banners to jump on this but from past experience it won't be long. As I first learned of this I remember MB's mall "paranoia" and how he avoids large groups of people, about 10,000 were reported to have been at the mall when this occurred, and I realized I have adjusted my own behavior when it comes to going to the mall/grocery store/restaurants since I started carrying on a daily basis again. I still find myself in Condition White too often but I am aware of it at least. I wonder if there were any armed CCW carriers at the mall in close proximity when this happened but I also wonder if there were any UN-armed CCW permit holders in the immediate vicinity and with the number of people that were there it is highly probable that CCW permit holders were there.
Sad day but it could have been so much worse. I've heard several possibilities or scenarios when it comes to mall shootings and this is probably on the "best case" end of the spectrum.

Then there was this one in NYC as well.
Although, while the one in Portland might have been "random", there's no way in hell this one was.
This guy was whacked because of his Coke dealing case in Ca.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - New York City police released video on Tuesday of a suspect they said calmly approached a California man on a crowded Midtown Manhattan street and fatally shot him.
The search intensified for the killer of Brandon Lincoln Woodard, 31, who was walking along West 58th Street near Central Park on Monday afternoon when he was shot from behind by an assailant with a semi-automatic handgun.
The video showed the suspect 10 minutes before the shooting getting out of a late model Lincoln sedan and pulling the hood of his black jacket over his head. Police said the suspect may be bald and wear a beard.
Police Commissioner Ray Kelly told reporters that Woodward had walked past the suspect twice before the shooting and seemed to get a glimpse of him but did not appear to recognize him.
Police also released a photograph of the suspect drawing what they said was a gun from his jacket pocket. Woodard can be seen walking and looking down at what appears to be a cellphone.
Immediately after the shooting, the suspect calmly returned to the Lincoln, which was idling nearby, and drove off, police said. The driver of the car was also being sought.
The shooting could be characterized as "being brazen or being foolhardy," Kelly said, given the crowds and video cameras in the area.
A car similar in description to the Lincoln was caught on camera going through the Midtown Tunnel toward the New York City borough of Queens after the shooting, Kelly said.
Police said ballistics tests indicated that the gun used in Monday's shooting had been used in a 2009 shooting in southeast Queens during which two men fired 12 shots at a house. No arrests were made in that case.
A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office said that last year, a man named Brandon Lincoln Woodard with the same birth date as the victim was charged with cocaine possession in California. He has misdemeanor convictions for petty theft and leaving the scene of an accident, she said.
The New York Post reported that police were also investigating an incident in which Woodard claimed to have been assaulted by bodyguards for R&B singer Usher.
Commissioner Kelly said there was evidence suggesting that Woodard was working as some kind of promoter before his death.

I can imagine. Even armed guards can't stop the "not so smart bomb" of a peace loving religion.

Can anyone say gang hit. Why wouldn't they be "Brazen" who is going to stop them?
Interesting how much video they admit to having on the suspects. This is probably an early warning on how the banners are going to escalate the propaganda going forward. Visuals are so much more effective at bypassing thoughts and stirring up emotions than words written or spoken.
Maybe we need some videos of women who protected themselves or their family spread all over UTube to give some viral balance.

Nothing new, look at how many Italian mobsters have been whacked in public places .

All of these incidents are just more grist for the Brady mill. They don't care if the perps are gang members, Italian mobsters or beserk wackos. All the Brady bunch cares about is that it happened with guns. Mores the better for them that the guns used are "military style". Something they can use to conjure up the image of automatic weapons in the hands of conservative, 2A loving, wing nuts. The people who create these incidents are a looney as the Brady bunch, just polar opposites on the circular scale of lunacy.

Darn, we should pass a law to close that "stolen gun loophole" .
After all, "It's for the children".

Rifle was stolen. "Body Armor" was a tactical vest. Gun jammed. This is getting to be a regular thing with these crack pots.

If nothing else, Wolf ammo is good for preventing huge death tolls.
