When I woke up this morning and realized the world had not actually ended, :o I simultaneously realized I am going to need to make an unplanned credit card payment. :'(
Crap. Why can't things ever work out? ;D

Live hopefully !
The day isn't over, there's still time for Israel to nuke Iran, India vs Pakistan, Syrian chemical weapons leading to an Israeli strike on them, or general Muslim insanity getting out of hand.
On the other hand, if we are talking about the end AS WE KNOW IT, the showing on Chinese TV of "V for Vendetta" might be quite significant.
There is also the possibility that there was a miss translation and it was not the "end of the world" that was predicted, but the "end of the Twinkie".

Still okay here in the SE.
Also had to pay a bill this morning I was secretly hoping I wouldn't. Darn.
Maybe they Mayan's were pegging this period, winter 2012, as the milepost towards the end of our republic.
Or maybe it was just Twinkies. Or maybe the NY Stock Exchange, which sold out yesterday to a private company here.

I'm covered from head to toe with asbestos paste. (leftover sunscreen from last summer)
If anybody sees a large asteroid hitting the atmosphere could you quick post it from your smart phone.
I need to run outside and test it.

It's still early, but I went ahead and paid the cable bill.
Crap, no free month for me . :-[

The whole thing was based on an original text misinterpretation..........
It wasn't for the "Mayan Apocalypse" at all.... it was an almanac recipe for a new redneck BBQ sauce called "Mayan Pucker Lips".........
:o
Happy Solstice everyone!!!
;D ;D ;D ;D

Several related notes:
Sheriff Jim posted that if the Myans' were any good at predicting the future they'd still be here.
Hope nobody missed the news that on Sunday 12/9, NASA detected a new asteroid and by Wednesday it passed between the Earth and the Moon. The point is there is stuff out there that nobody knows about and it could show up at any time.
This week I think two large asteroids where making near earth passes, but were posing a danger .... yet.

That was last week, there were news stories telling people to get out and see it if they could.
At this time of year the Earth passes through the tail of a comet and we get a pretty good meteor shower.
This year another comet had passed as well so they were predicting as many as 80 shooting stars per hour.
For a wonder it was clear here, and I'm up late any way . ;D

We have until the end of the day, Eastern Time I would guess, not being sure in what time zone the Mayan Calendar makers were located.
I can't say I expect the world to end at midnight, but I am waiting till to morrow to refill my ice cube trays.

All the Mayans migrated to North Georgia and became hillbillies....... ;D ;D ;D ;D
Archaeologist are still squabbling over the validity of this, but it is interesting in the similarities.
