A very good link for showing just how generous Americans are compared to the rest of the world.

Also some interesting facts about giving.

Religious folks give more then non-religious; rich more than poor (top 10% giving at least 25% of total); Conservatives give more than Liberals - and that includes other than cash..like blood donations.

I also read a chart that the wealthiest states have the least charitable contributions as well. Yes many of us, as a nation, are givers,. sadly we are being outnumbered by the "takers"...

I heard or read a 'sound byte' where BHO said  "No one can expect to get all they earn."

And I have to agree.  If you live in this country, there is overhead in running it (should be MUCH lower than it is...maybe 5% tax rate) and everyone should be paying for it.

Now, the other half of the equation needs to be  "...  and no one gets anything they didn't earn (with the exception of voluntary gifts)"
