Bank of America has reportedly frozen the account of gun manufacturer American Spirit Arms, according to its owner, Joe Sirochman.
In a Facebook post dated December 29, Sirochman wrote the following:
“My name is Joe Sirochman owner of American Spirit Arms...our Web site orders have jumped 500 percent causing our Web site e-commerce processing larger deposits to Bank of America. So they decided to hold the deposits for further review.
“After countless hours on the phone with Bank of America, I finally got a manager in the right department that told me the reason that the deposits were on hold for further review -- her exact words were -- ‘We believe you should not be selling guns and parts on the Internet.’”(emphasis added)
Sirochman also wrote that he told the bank manager that “they have no right to make up their own new rules and regs” and that “[American Spirit is a] firearms manufacturer with all the proper licensing.”
He also noted that he has been doing business with Bank of America for over 10 years, but will now be looking for a new bank.
According to Unlawful News, this isn't the first time Bank of America has targeted a customer involved in the firearms industry.
McMillan Group International was reportedly told that its business was no longer welcome after the company started manufacturing firearms – even after 12 years of doing business with the bank.

If you have a B of A account, dump it and pick a local bank or credit union.

What are the laws concerning a bank illegally holding funds? Does anyone else see a large legal settlement, and, in a perfect world, the end of Bank of America?

BOA is pretty bad. Even corrupt organizations are winning suits against them.

How come we are not hearing about this kind of discrimination and blackballing of American Spirit Arms' second amendment rights from the lame stream media. Oh that's right, it's not about gays, minorities, immigrants, Hollywood wackos, or some other fruits and nuts popular cause of the moment. When it comes to civil liberties, the second amendment does not count. If there was such a cohesive concentrated effort to limit the rights of or discriminate against gays, minorities, or the press the cries of the liberal leftist a$$-S#its and media would be deafening.

I dumped BofA years ago after they started giving credit cards and making loans to illegals.
BofA was started at the request of the Vatican and has long-held and deeply-ingrained ties to the Catholic Church.
In the past decades, it has become increasingly socially active with a very "progressive" agenda.
Unfortunately, this is a trait shared by many of the mega-banks.

BoA is just another scum bag banking corporation amongst many big scum bag corporations. BoA was one of the 1st banks to support La Raza, support illegal aliens, give unsecured loans to illegals and many folks that couldn't afford squat. BoA was a major contributor to the housing bubble explosion. BoA aka: Bank of Adversaries

I have a BofA credit card and I'm keeping my account open and active. Why? Because it is a no-fee points card and I do all my regular shopping with it. Groceries, gas, everything. I also pay it off in full every month so I never incur any interest charges. Then every 8 to 10 months I redeem 25,000 points for $250 in cash. So I'm one of those minority customers where they lose money. With my last redemption, I donated some to the NRA-ILA and CalGuns Foundation. ;D

They have changed politically 180 degrees since they were NCNB, and than they became NationsBank and they turned to the dark side. Hugh McCall was the last decent Conservative CEO they had in the 80's when they were a Charlotte, NC based southern regional bank.
They're real estate loan officers, underwriters, and other real estate dept.'s are terrible people to deal with. First hand exp. with that division.

They don't lose money with you, they just don't make any extra from you directly.
They make their money from the vendors where you make your purchases. They get a percentage of or surcharge for each purchase you make which is paid by the merchant and thus included in your price.
