I have a chance to purchase a used 4 inch 22 revolver, in fact two.
One is an old SW model 63 at my local dealer, the other is on the internet at a gun store in Arizona and that one is a Dan Wesson.
Both have the same wear, little to very little, but the SW model 63 is a $120 higher at the dealer.
Anybody got any thing to comment, I'd like advice.
I'm tempted, the price is right on the Dan Wesson, but I have bought revolvers from my dealer before, but they were all new.

Regardless of wear, check the timing, chamber to forcing cone clearance, etc.... A great price doesn't always mean a great gun. Check the Snubnose Files for ways to determine if a revolver is a good choice. Checking the timing of a cylinder requires looking down the muzzle! Safety is paramount...

On a revolver where repairs will generally require a gunsmith, you are better off sticking to the local one you can handle and look over before committing your money.

All previous advice and tips are sound. Revo's can be a devil's nightmare if they don't sync up through a complex interaction of moving parts to cycle and fire.
Cylinder play, lock up otherwise "slop" or tight and right fit and finish can make the difference between a sweethart and a headache.
.22's can be finciky NIB, research all you can, especially used.

Thanks for the advice. $100 more to buy local, is something I can live with considering, shipping and transfer fees, plus I get a change to give it a thorough exam. And I know the owner of the store, I'm in there at least two times a month.
Thanks again,
