If I had the spare cash, I'd be making this purchase.
This is PT-728, a 67 year-old restored Patrol Torpedo Boat from World War II.

Sweet!!! 72' Restored PT boat?
at $1,000,000?
Steal.

I saw one of these rare old boats in South Florida maybe 10 or 12 years back.
My first thought was of McHale's Navy.
My second was how much fuel it would take to run it.
It wasn't until my third thought that I said, How cool is that?

Our AVR in high school had two 200 gallon fuel tanks. An AVR is a 63ft rescue version of a PT. Our's had the Hall-Scott V12s removed and replaced with 6-71 engines. It was $800 to fill the tanks back then, closer to $1400 now. We could stay underway for about 8 hours on a fill-up at 15kts.
That thing was SO much fun, and a chic magnet ;D
