Now this is funny as all get out........
In a great Homer Simpson "Doh!" moment, these asshats in the NY Legislature got in such a big hurry to stomp on the citizens rights, that they forgot about the cops and included them also.
Personally, I think they need to leave it alone or abolish the whole thing. If I could only have seven rounds, Johnny Law only needs seven also.
-
As far a I'm concerned the firearms industry should only send them Guns and Magazines that hold 7 rounds from now on. >:(
-
Personally, I think the entire firearms industry should do like Ronnie Barrett did in California and just flat refuse to service or sell to any agency in NY state until this nonsense is abolished.
-
Agreed,As a NY gun owner I don't see where they should be trusted to have more ammo than any law abiding pistol permit holder in the state.
Anyone know where I can find some 10 round magazines for a browning HiPower that aren't priced like they're made of gold?
-
You know, that would be in the spirit of the writing of the 2A....That the people be armed equivalent to the government forces...be they local or national.
So, if it seems necessary to restrict The People, the same restrictions apply to the government forces.
-
Hey, the argument from the anti's was that "NOBODY needs more than 7 rounds". So screw em.

YEAH, LET THE GANG BANGERS KICK THE COPS & BODYGUARDS ___ES & SEE HOW ALL THOSE HYPOCRITES LIKS THAT!!! >:( ;D

I had a poll on here a few years ago on a awb. not rather or not you would support it, but rather you would support a provision that did not exempt leos. almost every one voted for that.
-
Isn't funny? At about 1:28 of that video clip "State Senator Eric Adams... (Is going to push for the exemption for police) saying you can't have criminals having more rounds than police" WAIT!!! Hold the phone!!! I thought the new gun ban was supposed to make the criminals turn in their hi cap mags???? So... Does that mean gun control laws don't work????

The future. In six months to a year, if this holds up to court scrutiny (which it shouldn't) everyone will be making compliant mags. I thought my two Clinton ten rounder Glock mags were losers. Now I know I'll be able to sell them.

You forget, it wasn't just the Clinton era, some states made 10 rounds permanent .

People I've talked to say that the State courts will up hold the law, It will be a Federal court that will overturn it, who know how long that will take,In the meantime I have a very nicely made Belgium paper weight... ::) ::)

Well...I happen to collect paper weights, so if you're interested? Or, I can set you up with a realtor here in a free state. Hell everybody else from New York moves down here, and at least you'll vote right. You're more than welcome.

Coming from FQ that's hilarious .

Thinking about the 7 round limit for NY cops.
Remember one of the latest shooting incidents talked about here, two cops confronted an armed man on the street....saw him, approached him and felt the need to open fire. If I remember correctly each cop fired more than 7 rounds.
Now, if two NY cops against one know and located suspect in a non-surprise attack needed more than 7 rounds each to stop the threat, it seems illogical to expect a single citizen faced with a surprise attack to handle the situation with only 7 rounds.
If they have that high of a regard for the qualifications of the gun carrying citizens, perhaps they should arm everyone. The cost savings in ammo and manpower would be significant, not to mention the reduced pension costs.

Are you referring to the incident where several innocent bystanders were hit and the bad guy never fired ?
In my opinion NYC Cops should be limited to one bullet .
Carried in their shirt pocket.

That is the one...I agree about the cops...except that the shirt pocket should be heavily starched after the bullet is dropped in.

I also think it might be interesting for Bloomy to explain why the cops protecting him need more than 7 rounds for that duty.
It isn't 'normal' police duty where they will be overwhelmed by swarms of criminals all carrying illegal firearms in pure defiance of and a personal affront to MAIG.
-
There was a report, I forget where, that broke down the stats that in areas with stricter gun control, NYC, LA, ect, the police tended to require more rounds than police in areas where firearms are more "accepted." Makes sense, if an officer isn't exposed to firearms until academy, and only allowed to requal semi-annually with bare minimum they will do worse when the SHTF as opposed to an officer that grew up shooting or shoots for fun.
-
I remember one, where the the NYPD fired I believe 118 rounds. Hit the suspect twice and hit an innocent. So in that case the NYPD has a hit percentage of less than 3%? Seems pretty sad for "professionals".
-
Only one round to protect hier bloomy.
-
Judging by the way most of them shoot cops shouldn't even have guns.
