Dear Timothy :
On behalf of Governor Deval L. Patrick, thank you for your recent correspondence regarding firearm safety and legislation.
Governor Patrick believes that successfully deterring gun violence requires a multi-faceted approach and should include policies focused on guns and at-risk individuals. That is why the Governor has and will continue to push for legislation that includes a formal collaboration between Massachusetts and the National Mental Health Registry, a ban on assault weapons and a limit on the amount of guns one person can buy in a given month.
Once again, thank you for your input on this important issue. Please feel free to contact our office again in the future with any additional questions or concerns. Your comments are always welcome in this administration.

My reply to his response...
Dear Sir/Madam,
What exactly would taking guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens of Massachusetts do to eliminate crime in our streets? These kinds of knee jerk reactions to limit my rights doesn't do anything to stop crime! In fact, statistics show that exactly the opposite is true!
Limiting what I can buy or when I can buy it serves no one but the criminal who could care less if he or she is restricted in any way! Criminals don't care about your laws...when they're buying their guns on the street, there is no background check, there are no taxes paid, there are no fingerprints taken, there isn't one thing occurring on the street that I, as a licensed owner in this state, is required to do!
In other words, the lack of understanding, wisdom and pure ignorance of what is happening on the street IS the Governors problem!
Law abiding gun owners are not a problem, they're the solution.

Dear Gov Patrick,
Considering the huge proportion of shootings and stabbings in Mass are committed by released felons and gang members in Dorchester, Mattapan, Roxbury, and Jamaica Plain, who are ignoring the laws currently on the books, your insistence on more laws for them to ignore raises a question.
Where you born this stupid or did you have to work at it to qualify for Mass politics ?

Frankly Tom, I was surprised he responded at all. I haven't heard a peep out of the asshole in two or three years! None of what I write is not too supportive but I'm always polite!
Remember, "tact" is telling someone where to go so well that they actually look forward to the trip!
As to to Patrick, he has his sights set on the WH! We do not want that to become a reality. This guy makes Baroke Odumbass look like William F. Buckley he's so far left...but you already know that!

You're right, Timothy, we have to learn tact. Or do we? Why learn tact when tact does no good? These politicians will steamroll you flat just to get your cold, dead hands off that AR, and stop at your ass to pick your wallet clean. A little less tact and a little more "in yo face" might work better. Who knows? Especially since it wasn't Deval Patrick, only a snot nosed staffer, who answered your letter anyway.

No argument but remember, the .gov can pull your ticket here in an instant! Yes, I would have done nothing illegal but they make can my life miserable for a time and costly as well. Better to have tact and fight another day than to have them revoke my LTC (CCW) and confiscate my firearms.
He'll be gone soon enough and hopefully, we'll go back to the way is was for decades. A Rhino governor and a communist legislature!

One thing I've notice in the last few years Tom. It doesn't take a Rhodes Scholar to determine your point of view!
