Title: Another Gun Show Shooting (5 now in a week)
Post by: crusader rabbit on January 26, 2013, 09:42:13 PM
Man accidentally shoots himself at Des Moines gun show

An Iowa gun dealer was hospitalized after he accidentally shot himself in the hand before a gun show Friday afternoon at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.

The 54-year-old St. Charles resident told police he was showing off a .25 caliber pistol he thought was unloaded when he slid the action of the gun causing it to fire. The bullet went through his left palm, according to a Polk County Sheriff’s report.

He said the gun was unloaded when he checked it earlier in the week and he didn’t know who would have loaded it. Police found another loaded gun on the man’s table and unloaded it, according to the report.

Just me being suspicious, but finding a second loaded gun at a dealer's table sounds like the work of an anti.

Or, far more likely, he was just a jackass. I mean honestly, which is more likely, Sarah Brady sending her minions to sabotage dealer's tables, or Billy Bob not checking his weapons?

Crusader is more likely to be right.
When was the last time you went to gun show and saw pistols that weren't zip tied ?
Why would he load guns he was planning to sell ?
Why only one round ?
It stinks.

Every new firearm at a Florida show being sold by a dealer is zip tied. The used firearms are only un "zipped" to examine the bore, barrel, etc..

Than re-zip tied. The folks bringing firearms to the show are required to have a LEO clear it and they zip tie it.

Something is afoot.

Thank you.  My thought, exactly. Too many co-inky-dinks.

One is chance .
2 might be coincidence .
3 is enemy action .
There have been 5 since the gun grabbers got geared up.
Only a fool would not be suspicious.

Or maybe, this crap goes on all the time, only now an anti-gun media is focusing on it whereas before it got listed in the the crime blotter on page 8, right along with all those "armed citizen" stories?

Every gun show I've attended in 3 states in 30 years has been the same .
FQ  (as usual ) isn't paying attention .
Hey Mr Gullible, a stopped clock may be right twice a day, but only twice, third time is suspicious.

It should be easy enough to search, shouldn't it?
I'm not comfortable taking my wife to shows now.
A good way to get some input on it is to ask your gun guy/FFL.. Prior to this business, I'd heard of one ND at a show, (personally). Just ask the guys who work the shows. I realize not everybody will be honest, as to allay fears, but you know who's gonna be straight with you.. Ask..
I smell conspiracy. I don't trust the militant leftist, and this is just the kind of thing that I would do if I were they..
To each his own theory..
As for me? I'm the Democrat who got mugged..  :(

I haven't been going to shows since the apocalypse. I just don't see a point. No one has inventory, and anyone that has anything to sell wants WAY more than I would pay even if I was desperate.

I fully agree that these ND's are becoming way too common to be accidental.

These "accidents" just happen to pop up all of a sudden,. Uh-huh. I was at a show inear Atlanta in the late 1980's when a dealer's AMT .380 went off. No one was hurt, and soon another dealer caught some clown trying to see if a .380 cartridge would chamber at another booth. The dealer where the AD happenned recognized the guy, and security was called.  Our local media mentioned the ADs, but not the guy with a pocket full of 380 rounds.
