(CNN) - Sen. Dianne Feinstein on Sunday described the National Rifle Association as the biggest stumbling block to passing her assault weapons ban proposal.
“The NRA is venal. They come after you, they put together large amounts of money to defeat you,” she said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “They did this in ’93, and they intend to continue it.”
Note: I'm not sure she used term "venal" correctly. Definition - 1 : capable of being bought or obtained for money or other valuable consideration : purchasable ; especially : open to corrupt influence and especially bribery : mercenary <a venal legislator> 2 : originating in, characterized by, or associated with corrupt bribery

Yeah....she is on top of everything. Technical wiz kid.
See her describe how a collapsible stock will change an AR15 to full auto. Near 5:45

I ask everyone who contacts their legislators or speaks in public concerning this to point out that the National Rifle Association is not some faceless entity. The National Rifle Association is four and a half million people, and it is ME!
If people accuse the National Rifle Association as being out of touch, unrealistic and uncompromising, I point out that they are far to flexible in the eyes of most of their supporters including ME.

It is pretty scary really. This woman is so woefully ignorant about firearms (although you'd think that after the last AWB she would have gotten some coaching), you have to ask yourself: Is she this f'ing stupid about her other areas of "expertise?" Specially when she is on so many committees.
Committee on Appropriations
Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies
Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies
Subcommittee on Defense
Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development (Chairman)
Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies
Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies
Committee on the Judiciary
Subcommittee on Crime and Terrorism
Subcommittee on Immigration, Border Security, and Refugees
Subcommittee on Terrorism and Homeland Security
Committee on Rules and Administration
Select Committee on Intelligence (Chairman)

Another point that needs to be made about Mrs. Feinstein when speaking to the public is that when it served her purpose she obtained her permit and carried a firearm for her own protection. She kept arms in her home for protection, and today she is protected by armed guards 24 hours a day. This woman fully understands the purpose and value of arms in the hands of the general public, but she has decided that we, her subjects, can no longer be trusted.

When she gets voted out of office one of these days, she will not be on these committes no more. Come on California,do you know what you are doing to us law-abiding gun-owners and reputal dealers and wholesalers??

There are really only 2 major liberal enclaves in Ca .
LA/ San Diego, SF Bay area, but they contain 2/3rds of the population.

A lot of them don't like her either because of her positions on dugs and the 1A and 4A and the Patriot Act. You have to give Di Fi credit, she is consistent in opposing almost all of the Bill of Rights. The woman is a facist, not a liberal.

Her, Boxer, Pelosi, all work the Dem machine of corruption and hand outs.

And they are all from the sf bay. they are very well liked there. The good news is this will be her last term. she just got relected and is very old. She may not even make it thru this one. when I was a kid ca was a great place to live. Now, just about every thing I did for fun, would never happen now. Not even close. makes me sad really.

Part of the reason we left, unfortunately we came to MD which is almost as bad. good thing we have to move to VA soon.

Once my grand parents pass we are gone.

I left CA for Florida 30 years ago and my parents retired to AZ shortly thereafter.
Dad had been a state college prof for many years. When he moved, California began a legal action to get him to pay Ca income tax on his retirement income--despite his being a AZ resident. It took an expensive attorney and many hours of negotiation/mediation to get that anchor off his butt.
That's when I made the decision never to go back. Now, I simply couldn't afford to live there.
Unfortunately, I still need to visit the state because my kid and grandkids live there. But they may end up moving, soon. The state is taxing and permitting their pet pharmacy out of existence. To continue to employ 12 people and make a living, they may need to move to Arizona, too.
As to DiFi not trusting her constituents with firearms... Well, she may be on to something. Treat people like chattel and they might just rise up with torches and pitchforks. I'm just sayin'...

Having done time in the land of fruits and nuts and their paranoia over earthquakes there is an interesting fact about their voting preferences. Take a look at the map that shows red and blue voting, overlay it with a map of the large faults in the state, and then dream of the day the big one hits and the feared portions of the state fall into the ocean - California will be a red state!
Another interesting fact about the state's political leanings is that you can read the history of the sixties and seventies, and then mark events on the red and blue map.

I don't know if she's that stupid, or if she knows full-well that what she is saying is complete bullshit, but also knows that she can say anything she wants and: 1) Those in the lamestream media don't know it's bullshit. 2) Those in the lamstream media won't give anybody who has a clue on the subject the same kind of national platform they give the Obama minions like Feinstein. 3) The anti's will eat it up. And 4) The percentage of the population that might not know the difference, but might also be open to the truth, will believe her because her's is the only voice they're hearing.
Anybody else recalling the story of the Battle of Athens lately?
