Ultra biathlon –
6 hours long, 1 1/4 long wooded trail loop.
End of the loop is range with biathlon targets at 50 feet. Each loop you shoot 5 rounds either off hand or prone 1 point for prone, 3 points for off hand. Bonus 1 point for cleaning the prone and 5 points for cleaning offhand.
Thinking of having a leader board outside the range so you can see where you stand to help decide what position to attempt on each loop.
Winner has the most points. Then we put the rifles away, break out the beer and eat fried chicken!

I don't know enough about biathlon to know where the "Ultra" part comes in .
But I've seen and heard enough to know that any one who finishes definitely deserves beer and chicken !

typically biathlon is a short 5k kinda deal - it's more a running contest with shooting breaking ties
with this I figure it could be a close race between a walker who cleaned the shooting offhand and a runner who hit 3 - 4 prone targets

On ski's or on foot it sounds like a heck of a challenge .
Should be a good time had by survivors ;D
