Title: Cheaper Than Dirt joins 2nd A movement
Post by: alfsauve on February 16, 2013, 09:28:48 AM
I know people have varying degrees of feelings about CTD and I don't know how many sales would actually be at risk, but they have made a statement.

Quote
Recently companies such as LaRue Tactical and Olympic Arms announced they will no longer sell prohibited items to government agencies and personnel in states denying civilians to own those same items. It has been and will continue to be Cheaper Than Dirt's policy not to sell prohibited items to government agencies and agents in states, counties, cities and municipalities that have enacted restrictive gun control laws against their citizens. We support and encourage other companies that share in this sentiment.

Sounds to me like they are pleading, "Please, Customers!  Come back!"

+1 this

All I can say is F CTD!   That they weren't subject to the same kind of response as the sports show after their ban on ebrs is beyond me. They have the right to make a profit, but when that profit comes from price gouging during a time of "emergency" such as this current state of panic buying then they don't deserve support from us.

Don't bite off the hand that feeds you!

Last Mailer I received from them listed no prices for ANY caliber ammo, not even "non-high demand" calibers...

But they did have Colt 30rd. mags for,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,........

$99.00

Cheaper Than Dirt my a**.....

Plenty of other companies that hold to principles over profits, ( and not to what the weasel corporate lawyers recommend).

Sorry CTD, I will not be purchasing anything from you again.

There has to be some carrot along with the stick .
The abuse they took on Modern Sporting Rifles SEEMS to have changed their thinking.
Now sales numbers have to change their gouging policy.
If they actually are cheaper on an item I'd say buy that but continue to boycott the stuff that is priced to rape the consumer.
I'm not in the market for anything, this is just a thought on previous posts.

Gouging is gouging...think I said that before. CTD read the tea leaves before and thought they were on the winning side. Did they re-read the tea leaves? Have they really switched sides...again? Or, are they just playing us for suckers? As for adding a carrot to the stick, gee that sounds "reasonable" to me. Surprised Tom said that. It is not the time to be reasonable to traitors and gougers. It is time for them to reap their just rewards, like going out of business and wearing a scarlet letter.

That would be my guess.

That's pretty much my opinion as well, but I just hate to see any gun related company go out of business .
If it weren't for the employees who don't share the blame I' say burn their warehouse .

Fair weather friends, wait to see what direction the wind is blowing then pick a side or jump ship to the other side. If they switched sides once they will do it again.

They're advertising on Glenn Beck. For that reason alone, I don't think they'll go under..
I don't know if they've learned their lesson, but they sure have had the opportunity to.
If they have, I'd say let them be. The only way to know for sure is to see how they react to the Administrations lead in the next round of attacks..
I'm gonna wait and see, myself..

Screw CTD, I hope they go bankrupt.  This is too little, too late for me.

Never bought anything from CTD so my business, or lack thereof, will have little affect.  I don't care for their business practices and I REALLY don't like their lack of conviction.  This last act seems to drip of desperation as a penance for their previous sins.

IF they REALLY want to show that they are sincere I'd recommend either a sizable donation to the GOA/2AF/NRA or set up some sort of event to benefit the same.

They just made a donation of $100,000.00 to the SAF. Nice gesture but they still will not get my business.

It is rarely a good idea to re-marry an ex-wife...

Even if she does make you what looks like a nice dinner.

I'm just sayin'...

It ain't sincerity, it's pure cynicism. They think we're dumb enough to pay their prices, and to believe this crap.

There's a thread on my NJ forum that CTD just gave $100K to the Second Amendment Society. That's a firm gesture.

That is just the revenue from a few Magpul mags though  ::)
