Good carry, Taurus Millenium PT140 PRO and Walther PPK.

Sorry but I do not trust Taurus as they do not live up to their warranties and their reputation is bad with me.. Just another POS as far as I'm concerned. JMO.

I am one of the people who has never had a problem with any of the Taurus handguns I have owned. Right now my primary carry weapon is a Taurus 605. In the handgun safe beside the bed is a Taurus 65 with over 10,000 rounds through it. No Problems, No Worries.

Just last year, a friend had me take a look at his Taurus 45, polymer frame, while at home. Nice size for a 10-shot .45, but after confirming it as empty, I dry-fired - and the trigger dropped out of the gun. It got fixed under warranty, but my friend never trusted it for carry again, saying he would feel safer with several of his other acquisitions - including a Kel-Tec .380.
They have some decent guns, but whenever I think of Taurus, I think of them making knockoffs of other brands - and especially because - briefly - they announced support for the smart-gun laws here in NJ, which will someday make it illegal to own a handgun that does not have smart-gun technology in it - even if the smart-gun is later pulled from the market. At least Taurus saw the error of their ways, and withdrew their support.

The Taurus pistols are not junk or garbage. I currently have a 24/7pro 40 with over 5000 rounds of both factory and reloads. with out a problem that was not caused by me. I used a spray type of cleaner and it had penetrated the primers. Lesson learned no further troubles, the main thing is to keep the firing mechanisms clean on the striker fired pistols. I also have an older used model 66 that runs flawlessly after 2000 rounds by me and who knows how many by the previous owner. There are a lot of reports on th 45 chambered millennium as having problems. Most of it was due to the ramp of the barrel being to steep for the 45 cartridge. Taurus has supposedly corrected this problem on the newer pistols. The main thing is parts do break on occasion on all manufactured products regardless of who made it. For every person that had a problem there are thousands who did not.
