Why the Black Congressional Caucus isn't pro-gun escapes me. Part of it is our fault, I mean there is more than a bit of racism in the gun culture (and I have been guilty as well). But I'll bet you dollars to doughnuts that will vanish if the guy or gal next to you at the range were black. Because a lot of those comments were based on assuming that you could judge someone's politics based on their skin color, not looking beyond that. That's our bad. Because seriously? Who needs guns more than people living in crime ridden neighborhoods? Who should distrust the government more than folks who were once legally enslaved? These are our natural allies, and if the NRA were doing its job they'd be on our side.
-
And why aren't more people of color members of the NRA?
The NRA was at the forefront of helping blacks arm to protect themselves from KKK or other harassment, during the civil right era.
BTW, Charleston Heston was one of the few white celebrities to be at the forefront of the civil rights movement. Not just with words but with action. He was on of the few whites, behind the scenes at the Lincoln Memorial with Dr. King during the March on Washington. Most white politicians and celebrities watched on TV and gave it lip service, including the Kennedy clan who only saw it as a way to increase the power base.

They've been paid off with the welfare that has destroyed the black family,
They've been deceived by the communist propaganda,
and they have been sold by "leaders" like Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton.
Remember, the slave traders who brought black's to America did not go out and trap individuals .
They bought whole sale lots from Arabs and other blacks.
Different crop, same plantation, same "Massa" .
-
At one time 'Massa' had to worry about work stoppages, unrest and runaways.
Now he just has to worry about the price of a $12 cell phone.

They still need to make examples of "Runaways" like Rev. Carson and Herman Cain.

I'm sorry, but I don't accept responsibility for the self image of any man.
No person of an age to be participating in this conversation has any reason to expect anyone to accept responsibility for what he or she is, save ones self. If one wishes to be thought of, or think themselves Free, Slave, Thug or Outcast, each has been afforded the right, and privileged to conduct themselves in such manner, by their own choice, not mine or anyone else here. It didn't happen that way..
We've all been given the right to be who and what we wish to be.
I've been mocked just about all my life for one thing or the other, whether it be fat, walking funny, a stupid laugh, more intelligent than useful, more patriotic than practical, (bitter clinger), smoker in a smokeless age, a few others. So what?
The observations say everything about the observer, and practically nothing about the observed..
What one chooses for themselves, each chooses of their own accord. Each will be judged, ultimately by their observations, by one of stature, power or grace, rather than whom they observe..
If I taught you how to suck, well, that may well be on me, if I taught you to be so as a child. Even then, an adult, by definition and law, is judged righteous or evil by that which they choose for themselves..
If somebody wants to be a dickhead, that's not my fault.. If it becomes my problem, I've learned to have witnesses, if possible, in removing the problem from my circumstances..
Okay, I'm done..
We now return you to our regularly scheduled "programming ;) "..

The fact that Obama has TWICE taken 95% of the black vote indicates that at least as far as blacks go, you stand a damned good chance of being right if you assume a Black is a "progressive"l democrat .
The fact that they have been cultivated by communist organizers for well over a century doesn't hurt your odds either.
Further, it is not "racism" to look down on an ethnic group that builds a culture around criminal activity, composes far more than it's fair share of welfare recipients and convicts and is involved in more than 3/4 of all the shootings in the country.

This isn't racism. It's a fair observation, and warning to us all. We all have choices. Some haven't chosen to face the fact that choices have consequences..
I'm not responsible for the choices another man makes, unless my choices violate his person, home or property of whatever form.. Then, I've asked him to make some choices of his own..

You mean these kind of choices ?
Use a rubber,
Get a job,
speak English,
don't rob and murder,
Marry the b!tch, and support her.

I think it was said best, when obama got 95% of the black vote. that tells me every thing I need to know about majority of the black people in this country. And no, thats not a racist statment on my behalf.

Maybe not, but the trailer park isn't the one you see on the news night after night.
as a small example, in the 12 years I've been back her from Ca 4 cops have been shot on duty.
2 were shot by whites who were killed at the scene, (one by a civilian ) the other 2 were shot by blacks both of whom went to prison one for life (the officer recovered and returned to duty) the other was sentenced to death but will probably do life.
So blacks are only involved in 1/2 the police shootings.
But only 3% of NH population is a minority of any sort.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Hampshire#Demographics
1.1% Black or African American
50% of police shootings in the last 10+years have been committed by 1.1% of the population.
None by the trailer trash .

Tom I wouldn't read too much into that stat. I know quite a few blacks who voted that way simply because he is black. IMO that is not an unreasonable response to their life experience of prejudice in all its forms. It does not change the damage that his election may cause, but it is understandable.
personally I have made a point to get to know and support any deserving minority at my workplaces because if they are good people after the crap life has usually thrown at them then they typically have great character. Which is my touchstone in developing people. Mostly my experience has been that the folks my age have not thought much beyond the D's are for us and R's are against us. The younger folks are more open to thought provoking questions about how has this been good to them. they have heard how bad guns are for so long that it takes a long time for them to hear any facts that contradict the mantra.
Our stupid war on drugs has destroyed most of the social structure in many poor ghetto areas. If you can't get a job but dealing, then your natural desire for success drives you to the only growth area.

There hasn't been any real prejudice in this country in 30 years.
These little leeches scream race prejudice when you expect them to be at work on time .
I have heard this with my own ears.
I also remember what happened when the first black moved into my neighbor hood in the 60's, his house got burned down. That was prejudice, expecting some one to do his damned job is not.
