Title: Prayer request for Rand Paul..
Post by: santahog on March 06, 2013, 05:24:49 PM
He's on the Senate floor now, filibustering to "DO SOMETHING" about this grand, ludicrous but logical extension of the mentality of the Patriot Act, aka killing you and I at home or work with an airstrike, without the courtesy of a trial, a "Thank You" or a "Kiss My Ass"..
Maybe even ask your (willing) Senator to help the guy out..
Thanks..

Also having the CIA Director blocked,...who is an asshat.

Mr. Paul Goes To Washington. Ted Cruz has his back.

Going on hour # 8

“I will speak until I can no longer speak,” Paul said. “I will speak as long as it takes, until the alarm is sounded from coast to coast that our Constitution is important, that your rights to trial by jury are precious, that no American should be killed by a drone on American soil without first being charged with a crime, without first being found to be guilty by a court.”

Paul began his filibuster at 11:47 a.m. Eastern time. At the start of the 1 p.m. hour, he was the only senator on the floor. Just 30 people watched from the Senate gallery above while a few security guards, stenographers and Senate pages held their appointed spots on the floor. In the rafters, a man responsible for operating the Senate television cameras was seen reading a newspaper.

But after more than three hours, Paul got some help and the filibuster began to gain steam. Lee joined the filibuster at 2:57 p.m. and Cruz at 3:08 p.m. Wyden jumped in in the filibuster’s fifth hour, at 3:53 p.m.

About time we saw some principles and testicular fortitude from a member of Congress,

Hi;

Along with a prayer for him to continue on, I always pray that this country survive for the next 4 years - I know it can - it did before in troubled times because the average American wants it to.

I am not a fan of Abe Lincoln, but if you ever visit his monument in DC, on 1 side is the    4 score and 7 years ago speech, on the other side of the room is a speech of his about those who wish to tear this country down. To me that speech is more important than the   4 score and 7 years speech....

believing in the good of America, we can/will overcome this current attempt to destroy/overthrow the Greatest Country the world has ever known. there are too many departed souls that are watching us at this important moment.

I've been watching pretty much all day. (playing on TV while I detail cleaned my Colt GCT)

God Bless Rand Paul!!
As Ulmus said "GO BABY GO!"

This is one of the few times that I've seen anything on C-SPAN that didn't make me think: "Holy sh!t. Is this the best we can do?"
Sadly neither of my 2 Senators have shown up to do diddly squat.

In watching the Senate for the last few hours, (as of 10:30PM CT), I am again reminded, and thank Almighty God that the groupies of the GOP have not hanged the hopes, dreams and future of the nation on notion of a man unprepared for the job..
Marco Rubio IS NOT READY TO BE THE SAVIOR OF THE NATION, so quit it..
He is prepared for the shallow end of the pool, and he will drown us all if we demand that he still the seas before us..
>-> ON THE OTHER HAND <-<
While he was simply repeating the words of others, be they Shakespeare, Patton, Reagan or Goldwater,
Ted Cruz is one who seems to have a grasp of that which is before us, with all the gravity that that entails..
I thank God for Ted Cruz..
****
Okay, McConnell is about to tell Rand Paul to go away now..
I wonder if he will acquiesce...
I surely do hope not...
NOPE, HE DIDN'T !!!!!
We're seeing a couple of damn fine men up there. (A couple..)
-------
McCain, Graham and Ayotte had supper at the White House tonight..

I'm sure this would convince Bloomberg to rename his coalition to "Mayors against Illegal Government Drone Strikes".

Ron Johnson, (R) Wisconsin, just stood up and said that he enjoyed his meal with the President..
Isn't he special...  ::)

You know, the image brought to mind reading that Ron Johnson had dinner with the president while Rand Paul was fighting for our liberty was of Hanoi Jane sitting on a North Vietnam AA gun that would be used to fire on our fly boys that night.

I know it isn't quite that treasonous, but is smells that way.

Maybe you ought to tell him that as you're in his state. I'm sure he would be flattered with the comparison.

After thinking about Ron Johnson, I realize that dinner with the president is likely to be a 'job requirement'.

I guess it happening during Paul's effort and Johnson reporting he enjoyed it brought up the image of what's her name.

On the other hand, I wonder if needing to uphold my oath of office and help defend the Constitution of the United States is a valid reason to cancel a dinner date with BHO.

Here is a list of those invited to the dinner.  Even if it hadn't been scheduled during Paul's effort, it might not be a bad idea to give those representatives who were given special attention by the president some special attention of our own... Maybe just to let them know what our expectations are and that we are following the activities they take on our behalf.

The guest list included Republican Sens. John McCain of Arizona, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania, Bob Corker of Tennessee, Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, Dan Coats of Indiana, Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, Richard Burr of North Carolina, Mike Johanns of Nebraska, John Hoeven of North Dakota and Saxby Chambliss of Georgia.
