-
where ya headed?
-
I have a few places in mind. Don't really know at this point.
-
Good Move, TAB.
My guess is that where every you choose, you'll improve things there.
Good Luck.
-
Florida, Texas and New Hamster have no state income taxes.. and Fl. has a lot of options for medical field for your O.L. (she is a nurse right?). anyway, good luck finding a new home dude, it's worth it.

Best of luck TAB! But don't come to Maryland (you know why) unless you are prepared to fight.
-
Good Luck TAB!
I assume you're keeping the doctor lady/baby momma too!
Stay off the east coast altogether...the north you're screwed and the south is just too damn hot!
-
Scratch Colorado off your list - we are being Californicated so in a couple of years it will look like what you are leaving. :'(
I hear that so many people are leaving CA that it is almost impossible to get a U-haul there.
-
A few months ago I would have said "come check out Colorado", now, not so much, its just California Lite. >:(
Anyway, good luck where ever you end up. ;)
-
Good luck in wherever you go!
Maybe just pick a right-sized town and then hunt a state?
-
Best of luck in your big adventure where ever you plant your feet. As Ichiban & locnload stated CO. isn't that great anymore, way to many Kommiefornians. The Californification transformation started in the early 80"s and has steadily gone down the craper since.

If I weren't tied to family and job, I'd vote Oklahoma myself.
-
Florida is pro-gun and warm and lots of need for contractors and doctors. Its overcrowded though. I'd look hard at Charelston Sc. and Austin Tx.. Both great Towns, gun and food friendly and again, business for you and the wife. Asheville is also worth a look as is Boise and Bozeman if you don't mind the cold. Good luck.
-
Best of luck, TAB..... you seem self-motivated and hard-working enough that I think you will do well where ever the road takes you.
-
I can understand the motivation, I'd think of bolting myself except for my kids
Good luck
-
You won't be sorry.
-
Best of luck wherever you end up! I'd say Ohio, but they have turned sour on us!!!!!

Good luck TAB!
I've been giving some thought to leaving the ole Sunshine State for some time now. I was ACTUALLY born in FL and have lived here all of my life; not many native Floridians around...
So why would I leave FL? I can see on the horizon a shift in the political spectrum back to the left. And this time it's going to be a hard shift to the left. The demographics of this state are starting to tilt against the kind of values I espouse. It's the same kind of thing that will happen that has happened in CO. And I'm tired of the humidity.
So I'm thinking about northern AZ, Montana, or Idaho. Some place where I can go and people will leave me the f*ck alone.

CONGRATULATIONS TAB!!!!!!!!!!

I am paying a great price for leaving. Its costing me untold hurt. lots of tears today as I was making the calls to friends/family/clients. I have lots of reasons for leaving, most of which I have not and will not put online. No its not what you maybe thinking. Up until just recently my reasons for staying were stronger then for going.(once again not what you are thinking) now its the other way around and its not going to change. I am ok with that, its just time to go. Almost every one that knows whats going on( or atleast part of it) is in agrement.) its just time to go.
-
Tab, I wish I could get my kids to leave Kalifornistan with you. Wherever you end up, it is very likely to be better from a financial perspective. I have no way of knowing your motivation, but I wish you well. Let us all know where you drop your hook. And best of luck in your pending move.

Washington doesn't have income tax either but I left there 10 years ago and subsequent trips back have justified that move. Oregon is more gun friendly than most people know, due in part to Oregon Firearms Federation's work over the last 15 years. Still a blue state but we are working on that.
-
Good luck TAB.
-
Is Dr. Wife heading out with you as well?
-
Sorry to hear about the tears, Tab. Saying goodbye to family and friends is very hard. I know that where ever you go, that place will be better for it.

This thread squeaked by me. Anyway, Arizona is just a few hours away, and you will be able to visit those you left behind much easier. Housing and property taxes are very affordable, (at least for the moment, but prices are rising fast), and there is plenty of work here.

TAB, if you're ever on the other side of the Cascades in the Willamette Valley let me know. I'd be glad to make your aquaintence ;D
My FIL has some property over on Sun River so I may be over there from time to time as well. Just know that OR may be a blue state but we have fought to keep our 2A rights and have done so rather successfully thanks in no small part to Oregon Firearms Federation. You might consider joining or at least subscribing to their email alerts.

They're getting to be as bad as California and Colorado.

Come on Bill, he hasn't been there THAT long. ;D

THEY keep trying but WE won't let them. On the 2A issue at least. As for the rest of the political stuff we're screwed. 60% of all Oregonians are on Food Stamps (Oregon Trail), the governor, senate and house are all controlled by Democrats. And the Republican Party is infighting as people place power and self interest ahead of the good of the people-like every other political system.
Our biggest problems are Portland, Eugene and Salem-the I-5 corridor, I live 1/4 mile off I-5 between Salem and Eugene and we are pretty conservative here. TAB is on the other side of the Cascades were Nosler is located and even more conservative.

Bend actually is made up of mostly retired LEOs from CA. I have a uncle that has been here for about 15 years. its a great place to hunt, fish, boat, ski and play golf.( I don't) This is just a stepping stone, this summer the plan is to drive around and see whats out there.
