The whole Rocky and Bullwinkle series was for adults, but kids enjoyed it anyway.

I think those kinds of cartoons made for smarter kids.. (Or was I just "special")..
On the oter hand, I took the ASVAB the first ime and qualified for any job they had except for Missles.. I was pretty stoned..
The first time was for the Reserves..
The second time, (going active because I was going broke running back and forth to Drill), I scored 9 points lower without a buzz..
NOt sure if that said more about me or the test..
Gotta love those vague memories..  :-[

You didn't miss anything with missles.  I was a 13N (Lance Missle Crew Member) and ended up guarding bunkers in Germany.

I did take the DLAB and qualified for Turkish and Arabic but wanted Spanish or Japanese so I decline.  Wonder what could have happened had I accepted? ???

BUT I didn't  ;D

Magoo,

You probably would have wound up in the Army Security Agency/Army Intelligence Service had you accepted. Not bad, but not much access to firearms.

You might be surprised about that.
Those were the guys who tracked Pablo Escobar.

There was a time this meant something......To a few that carry on that tradition,.. it still does.

My son turned 18, March 19th,...He was old enough and mature enough to be given a couple things out of the strong box. And I'll be damned before any "law" enacted in panic, liberal knee jerk fashion says otherwise.

This was in 86, but they needled the shit out of me to take the job that dropped me 50 miles inside the Czech border.. At that point in time, (at least in my mind), it wasn't so much that it was dangerous as it just sounded kinda boring..
The brigade spook (E-8) went out of his way for 8 or 9 months to casually talk to me. Invited me to "stop by anytime" and all that..
I was doing what I wanted to do, but you've got to admit.. The spooks had a leg up on the rest of us, both in service and afterward..
I sustect that had I taken it, I'd never have had the woman I married.. She was worth every blessing or price I could have paid for her..
I'm happy..
