NO

I'll show my ignorance.  What is UBC?

UBC "Universal Background Check" that thankfully was defeated in the Senate for the invasive, usurpation, that went far beyond the background check system we already have...

And since criminals 99.9999999999% of the time do not comply with ANY background check, well it's obvious.

I repeat NO

No trades to get what we have lost.  Take back what we have lost

The only time a background check, universal or otherwise, would do any good is if criminals and those deemed mentally unfit to own firearms are also dumb enough to try to purchase one from legal channels.

Since the government is too busy, according to Greasy Joe, to prosecute those who attempt to illegally purchase a firearm with a failed background check, it will only serve to let the refusee know they need to look elsewhere.

No UBC to get back lost rights .
But I will compromise to this extent.
If they repeal all the failed Local, State, and Federal gun laws I will not insist on all ATF employees being charge with civil rights violations.
For now.

Careful with the for now.   There might be a statute of limitations for their violations....

Not if you link their repression to increased murder rates, then it becomes a "Crime against humanity".

Yaeh, Tom. And we could report them to The Hague or the UN, even. NOT! We'll just care of them ourselves.

"Court of National reconciliation" Several countries that had civil type, so called "Dirty Wars"  like South Africa and Argentina have done it.
They hold show trials to hang a few of the leaders and tell the spear carriers to sin no more.

According to the advanced logic of our current administration, much of what has been proposed could be implemented with a couple of well-placed signs.

NO ILLEGAL GUNS ALLOWED
THIS MEANS YOU!
I can't believe I'm giving this stuff away for free.

You can thank me later.

Maybe That's what the Pyramids are  !
A really big "No Guns" sign .
It's a proven fact that ancient Egypt never had a single "gun death", so they MUST have had some secret.

The current administration begs to differ.  They say the reports of gun deaths were suppressed by the NRA and the 10% of the Egyptian population who were right wing terrorists.

Bush may have had a hand in it too.

Here is another interesting question in light of what is going on up in Watertown, Mass:

If police are going house to house searching for terrorists do you consent to their searching of your property without a warrant?  Why or why not?

unless the guy is litterly on my property the answer is always no.  Then again if your a crimal trying to hide on my property you would rather deal with the police then me.

I'll vote with TAB on this one.

As TAB has said many times, there are laws on the books intended to make the job of police easier that could make you vulnerable to arrest if an officer was let into your home and observed the technical offense.

A thought I have  had watching the play by play is that how many folks in Watertown are wishing they had weapons in the house right now?

These guys murder out of hand and I don't think they will be letting anyone else live to raise the alarm again. If they pick your house you are in deep dodo unless  you are prepared to fight back....and bringing a ball bat, golf club or butcher knife to a gun fight is not the recommended tactic for survival.

also if the police really beleave they are in your house and in pursiut they don't need a warrent.
