Perhaps since he was against selling out to a European Co. InBev, before he was for it, and now he is against his NRA membership, when before he was for it......
Consumers can fill their frosted mugs with something else....

Busch Brewing Heir Resigns Long-Time NRA Membership
Friday, 19 Apr 2013 02:22 PM
By Sandy Fitzgerald
The heir to the Busch brewing family's fortune Thursday resigned his lifetime membership to the National Rifle Association because of the powerful group's opposition to background checks for all commercial gun sales.
Adolphus Busch IV, in a letter to NRA President David Keene, wrote: "I fail to see how the NRA can disregard the overwhelming will of its members who see background checks as reasonable," the Huffington Post reports.
Busch's resignation came the day after the Senate rejected a bipartisan bill to expand background checks, along with numerous amendments to a pending gun control bill. The NRA, the capital's most-powerful lobbying force, opposes all gun control measures.
"The NRA I see today has undermined the values upon which it was established," Busch said. "Your current strategic focus clearly places priority on the needs of gun and ammunition manufacturers while disregarding the opinions of your 4 million individual members."
Busch joined the NRA in 1975, but said the group has moved in a direction he does not agree with.
“One only has to look at the makeup of the 75-member board of directors, dominated by manufacturing interests, to confirm my point. The NRA appears to have evolved into the lobby for gun and ammunition manufacturers rather than gun owners," he said in his letter to Keene.
He noted that the NRA's stand against universal background checks reverses a position it took in 1999 following the shootings at Columbine High School in Colorado. Busch also said he can't comprehend how the NRA's opposition to a ban on assault weapons ban and high-capacity magazine's advances its vision of gun safety.

Words don't escape me with a thoughtful reply, just the forum's rules on expletives and profanity does.
Viva Dos Equis!!!! Or many others.!!!!! Given the political climate, this may sting a bit,.....

Natty Ice. Its cheaper and tastes the same. Its what I drink on the boat as I have a strict no glass policy. On land I drink real beer. Either way, avoiding Bud is the easiest boycott ever. Its like asking me to boycott "The View".
-
The beer sucked anyway...water that'd hold a head! No character, no body, no alcohol..
Suck it Adolphus...
BTW, who the f..k names their kid Adolphus?

Dude, Natty IS brewed by Anheiser Busch. You'll have to start drinking Miller Lite, or some other sex in a canoe beer.

DoH! Damn corporate bullshat! I therefore open the floor to to nominations for any cheap beer other than Miller (I just don't like it) that's under a buck a can to be the new boat beer. The main criteria is that it has to be easily available and not be preceeded with the term "lite" (latin for faggot). ;D Yeah, I know, but hey, I'm defending, God, guns, America and non-communist beer here damnit! ;D

After living over 20 years in NASCAR country, NC. Just a few observations regarding the Busch Series that Adolphus Sponsors.
Uh, there are millions of NASCAR fans that yes ( I know it's shocking), ;) that lean Conservative, love their Bibles, Guns, Family, Friends, and BEER.
They are also not all stupid rednecks that don't pay attention to current events.
Messing with a large portion of your demographic, and your base, from a financial standpoint, is a BAD idea.
Budweiser fans are hardcore,.....and own guns, are members of the NRA, and probably will come to the conclusion that ol' Adolphus is a sell out.
Good business strategy Adolphus!!!! Probably could have just kept your mouth shut.

But then how would Schumer's c@ck have gotten in? Sorry, I'm channeling Tom. Its just after the defeat of the AWB, a clear victory for the Constitution, I am out of patience with these people.

Walk into any packy and there's so many better beers than those by major bottlers!
Goat piss has better body than Bud!

I stopped drinking their beers when they stopped supporting the shooting sports!

I wonder if Adolphus would support background checks to purchase, possess, or consume his products. Want to make sure that there is not a history or potential for misuse, substance abuse, drunk driving, kids in the house, etc.
Perhaps he would support a limit on the amount one could purchase, 2 pack maximum ? Limit on the size of the container a'la Bloomy.
Perhaps he would support a total prohibition of alcohol.
You could make a more realistic argument that it is for the children than the antis do for gun control. If I had the time do the research I think that one would find that alcohol consumption causes more death, illness and injury, ruins more lives, and is a greater financial drain on society then firearms.
Mr. Adolphus Busch, sir, you are a hypocrite, however you may exercise your first amendment rights as you have, just don't tread on our second amendment rights.

Yep. Next try arguing with the drug warriors. Same paragraph, just switch out the words. I do it all the time. Its easier. ;D

I don't know how Anheiser-Busch can be such a big operation. Bud tastes like sour cat piss, Bud Light tastes like bitter cat piss, and Busch/Busch Light taste like, well . . . nothing.
If I need a post workout protein shake/pain reliever/muscle relaxer, one of these is what wets my whistle. I don't know if they're pro-gun or not, but they sure are tasty.

He and Bush 41 the elder can have a circle jerk together, and talk how the world would be a better place with more Jack Booted Thugs and background checks. ::)

The CDC has already done it for you:
2010
Assault (homicide) by discharge of firearms: 11078
Alcohol induced deaths: 25692

Is there a place to send him a friendly little email? His beer is s**t, and his understanding of our Constitutional rights is lacking. That's what comes of being a person who grew up as a rich kid with money from the drug of the masses. In fact HIS product has probably caused more misery in this country than all the guns have, ever.
No concept of reality, and besides....he sold his "American Institution" to the Belgians. If he doesn't like our Constitution, he can go live in Belgium where the bank guards carry automatics. He's just one more irrelevant hump with an opinion.
-
A/B got big originally when they came up with the "refrigerated rail car" they invented the "national" beer market since they could ship all over the country.
Trust laws forced the Rail Roads to carry other brands as well .
And as to consumption, everybody around here seems to have a Sam Adams favorite .
-
there are soooooo many nicer beers out there anyway
personally I go for smaller craft brews and stay away from the big commercial brews.
and the US has some amazing ones and some that I want to try however need to get it sent over as they don't sell to Aust :'( :'(
anyone live near Milton Delaware to start with ;)

I'm having a Dogfish Head Indian Brown at the moment!
Damn fine stuff...and being as it's 7.2%, it's not necessary to drink more than a few!

The 120 IPA is hard to get here! Their whole year could be shot with one bad batch! I can't afford it myself!

What are you paying when you can find the 120 IPA, Jnevis?
It's about 40 bucks for a six pack here when it's available. There are few places that sell it by the bottle for 10-12 bucks!
Don't really need more than a few anyway at 18% ABV...
-
I haven't looked recently, Doc says no more beer for now :'(
-
Please educate me, what is 90 and 120 IPA.
-
Please educate me, what is 90 and 120 IPA.
IPA is an acronym for "India Pale Ale". The number refers to the amount of time they add hops to the ferment-er or the keg after fermentation. Dry hops don't add bitterness to the beer but can add a fruity finish to the beer. When DFH does a 90 or 120 minute to an IPA, they drop hop for 90 or 120 minutes. It's my understanding that the 120 minute is very, very difficult to achieve the perfect balance of hops, time and the alcohol is intense. One mistake and their whole years can be up in smoke. That's why it's so expensive.

lol why would i send a crap beer over to you..
