Look, I've tried to copy and paste about ten times. This the best I can do. Its worth a a watch though.

I know you know that that is NOT William Shatner's view but his characters view on a TV show - right?

Try as I may I can not find his real life views on guns but I do know he is whole heatedly in POSITIVE SUPPORT for gay marriage - and openly applauds it and any state that changes its views on it from his twitter account.

      Why should we care what any celebrity thinks? They are actors and actresses and most don't know when to stop acting. After a while most don't know that they are acting instead of living. Anything that brings them money makes them act.

Haven't looked into it to deep but, Shatner is pro-weapons of sorts.  He's been in a few paintball mags over the years hosting huge 200+ man paintball games over a whole weekend. :D
